The BBC have posted an article about the value of football and compared it to other sports. For a change RL has been mentioned and they reckon the cheapest Super League outing is at Hull for £27. That seems a bit much for me.
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14366574.stm
They asked clubs for their cheapest and most expensive possible matchday adult tickets, as well as the prices for a cup of tea, a programme and a pie. Don't know if it was concessions but our cheapest ticket is £18? How much is a cup of tea a programme and a pie? I'm too tight to buy them (and if they add up to £9 I'm not surprised) so how much are they?
And is Hull the cheapest day out in SL?

| It doesn't say that Hull is cheapest, it's just showing the Hull prices.

| Bit unfair considering Hull are the most expensive 'starting' tickets in SL. The football article wasn't overly clear in terms of whether it was concessions or not that were listed as cheapest and the SPL one is WAY out.

| Isnt Hull the priciest in the League? Making that a little unfair I'm pretty sure a Ticket, Pie and Pint at Wigan is around £22-23 for an adult.

i noticed on that list of footy teams that the cheapest were assessed by the cheapest ticket, but the dearest were priced by the dearest ticket......hardly a fair comparison.
and who the hell pays £2-20 for a cup of tea, and 4 quid for a pie???????

Thanks I didn't read it properly. Looks like the BBC are writing unbalanced articles as well, trying to make out that football is comparable with Super League - not like them at all?
And yep will need to take a loan out for Wembley or try and sneak a few cans in.

| I wonder if the used the prices at Hull that home fans pay for their cup of tea and pie or whether they used the higher prices that away fans have to pay for the same products.
Sod Wigan's tackling technique and Warrington's cap evasion; this is the real disgrace in Super League that Hull are allowed to charge away fans extra for food and drink in the ground.

| I don't much care about the price comparisons, looking at the respective entertainment value of the two sports is enough. I wouldn't go watching football if it was free.

Too true. I am a united fan and paid £60 to see the CLQF against Chelsea and it was a great game of football but not a patch on most rugby games I have been to.
Most of my United fan mates are so jealous that I can have a whole day out for an away game including the coach, beers and food for less than the price of their ticket.
