Last night watching the Wire v Hudds match something happened which made me think that something I had allways suspected was true.
Everyone knows that the Ref is wired up to the touch Judges and Video Ref so that they can keep in touch.
But is the Match Ref also in contact with the TV commentary team (or does the Video Ref relay TV comments to him)
The reason I say that is because of an incedent in the match.
Luke O'Donnell of Hudds commited two offences in quick succession and Stevo suddenly screamed out, "Thaler has got to bring the Captain in and have a word with him about O"Donnell" and lo and behold within about 10/15 seconds Thaler brought the Hudds Captain out and gave him a warning about O'Donnell.
Does anyone else have symilar suspicions about these sort of goings on ?.

On another note, did anyone else think Mylers pass which stevo described as "perfect" was a mile forward last night????

We have to have the worst commentators of any sport. They point out
the blatantly obvious frequently, show bias during matches and jump to
wrong conclusions constantly, while thousands of people at home can instantly
see the opposite of what they have said.

Eddie is the worst, he obsesses over Saints "comebacks" and Warrington to the point were it is cringeworthy and embarrasing. Fair enough Clarke does the same towards us but at least Clarke knows his stuff, Eddie knows technically cack all about RL and makes no proper contribution at all. Stevo is just pathetic, and is like a broken record, you could watch any 2 games and he would say the same stuff, on the same minute of both games.

did anyone watch the bradford - cats match when Ferriol was sent off???

betham walked over to his TJ all of who confirmed with Bentham the tackle was high and not a lot more in it, however Bentham can then be clearly seen listening to the vidoe ref and lo and behold sent the player off, correct decision by all accounts but the system needs to be made more transparent and I think a video ref should be able to rule on this

The VR should be mic'd up like in RU, in my opinion.

Lets get Stevo in a pair of shorts and see how well he can referee a game...who knows he may be on a par with Ganson and Bentham

Show how bad the commentary is when stevo says " he should be given a try for effort there " . Rugby league will never be taken serious as long as these 2 clowns are commentating . Bias beyond belief .

If you have a scanner (only for TV matches) you can listen in.

The VR is routinely consulted in televised matches for red card offenses.
If the technology is there, the ref is IMO quite right to use it to ensure the correct decision is made

It probably won't happen as the VR often offers input into general play and it will make officials look even more stupid if the ref ignores the VR's input.

Yes it was a forward pass. But because the clowns didn't make an issue out of it then no one thinks it's an issue. They really do tell the lynch mob who to go for.....

Myler's pass to Anderson - just before Anderson passed back to him and Myler scored - was about a metre forward.

Or in Eddie & Stevo's language - "a perfect Warrington try", as opposed to a "blatant Wigan forward pass"

My biggest issue is the lack of a video ref at non-televised games. They often have a huge impact on the result - mainly because the ref goes to him at every available opportunity.

i agree i think video tech should be at every game. when watching sky games and they go to the video ref, eddie says alot if we wasnt here this try would have been given vice versa, which i dont think its fair to everyone else if refs get the call wrong.

also last night the sky team was very happy to comment on everything we did wrong soon as warrington did summat wrong they sounded dissapointed but never made a fuss. alot things went against us last night but it was the right result
