| title says it all really ....
no fans , with very little to offer on the rugby front
my gut feeling is they will still get a franchise as the RFL wont want to give up on the south , it really does need looking at

| It was hand on heart the most dissapointing performence i've seen from a superleague side tonight. They seemed to have little skill and even less heart and even a second half of us playing at literally 5% brought about a 12-6 defeat for them.
A very poor advert for superleague tonight.

I like Randall, Ellis, Gale, and Dorn. Melling and Clubb are useful players too. The problem they have is that their forwards are rubbish.
As for if it's time to call it a day on the London project. Is it . Not unless you're happy with the 'M62 corridor' being the heartlands of the game and never expanding from there. They're also now starting to produce talented players, which is half of what a London club is all about - it's a huge population to draw talent from.

I'm a little vexed tonight because I backed them to be the suprise package before the season and for a little time I looked like a clever di*k but not anymore. They have some taleneted players and they bring plenty to the game but from a purely playing perspective that wasn't good enough tonight.

| Part of Quins problem is the coach, Powell has no experience, and as such is now badly exposed, I dont see them winning another game this year.
With a better set of forwards, they wouldnt be dreadful.

I agree. When we play a top side I often think when they walk out "We are in for a game tonight" as you can tell they are big men and at peak fitness. I saw that lot walk out and I knew they had no chance. They just looked like a pub team.
Did they have lots out injured?

| I'm not sure on my position on this.
However, take a team away from London and RL will always be a 2nd rate sport with no future or growth potential.
If you are happy with this then fine.
If you are not then we need a team in London.

| Its always sad to see the north stand empty although expecting London supporters to make a huge journey every other week is a big ask for them!
They were terrible tonight although one positive was the performance of Bailey who's looks like a solid player for them.
Their home attendences are a massive worry - perhaps they need to relocate?

That big bar at the side of the stand would definitely be missed... love Harlequins away but sadly they just aren't providing anything at the top level.

I think they were more likely to get going in their own right in just about any of their previous locations in London. I lived in London when they were the Crusaders and watched them at Crystal Palace and I reckon that was better than Quins location. I just don't think there is an appetite for the game where they are now.
I think Qunis job is to keep a London presence for the game until they can be replaced by a team who has grown form some real roots down there such as London Scholars (?spelling) when they are ready to move up.

| When I've worked down south I've met alot of League fans who are Southerners the problem they always tell me is that its 1 club representing London, which is abviously a big area. How can they be the London club when they only play in the Twickenham area of London?? IMO you can't break into the market down there with just 1 team represent them in SL but obviously theres no way we could put enough teams in SL to represent all the different areas of London.
Theres no way you can break such a big market area with 1 team. They've been around long enough now and it hasn't work and its time they are treated like any other club, don't fit the criteria for a license = playing in the championship!

| No it isn't but something needs to be done to help them. Their owner is keeping them going out of his own pocket but he isn't a very rich man. They have very few imports and a lot of London born guys are making it a top SL level - LMS, Sharpe, Chubb with a lot more just behind them as more juniors are playing the game in London than in Wigan. I wish that Wigan had pushed on last night as a 100 - 0 thrashing would surely have set some serious alarm bells ringing.
As a start I am amazed that they didn't approach Brian Noble to do a consultancy job to assist their rookie coach, one thing Brian can do is structure a team around a basic game plan which was drastically missing in the first half hour last night.
A bit longer term but the money needs to be found for two top level, bums on seats imports whatever it costs - and I'm talking Lockyer, Slater or Inglis level here.

| The facts state that since we had an SL club in London, more people are playing RL down south than up north, however they dont seem to turn up to games and there first team offer nothing tothe league....confusing.

Not really - people will not watch an embarrassing, heartless, losing team, especially when a significant number of the fan base have to travel many miles / hours to get to even home games. I have been watching them for years and I am hardly motivated to do the hour trip to a home game.

The Sky televised game was also so one sided Cas and Sky may as well have not bothered. Eddie and Stevo spent the whole game complimenting Dire on a great performance. Yes you can only beat what's in front of you but seriously the best national league sides could have beat Cas last night.
