Congratulations to all those who can't just pass a flag above their heads and then pass it down a few minutes later.

Because of the idiots who, week in week out, continue to keep hold of the huge flag that goes up and down the South Stand before kick off, it now is illegible for the away fans and also has a huge tear in the middle - it must have cost a fortune and some mindless idiots have ruined it.

i think ull find that one of the guys walking up the isle guiding it up took the wrong corner,
and it got wrapped around the hording on the bottom of the stand,

Yes I noticed the tear along the left side of the flag (from the posh East Stand).

I guess its kids that buggar about holding on to it.

On Sunday they definitely got it up the wrong way as truewiganer says.

Can someone repair it?

Yeah, that's how it looked - the guy on the East side was taking the bottom corner up instead of the top, so it ended up twisted.

I was watching from the east. I looked to me like it had torn on the step bannister that surrounds two seats behind the exit point myself. Someone definitely tangled it up taking the wrong corner up though. It was an amusing fail from my vantage point.

It was already torn at the last game.
I know because the tear always passes right over my head.

As for the kids grabbing hold and not releasing it though - Firkin grow up and just pass it up/down as it's meant to be.
We miss the players running on to the pitch because of them half the time.

More or less spot on Bilko, the guy taking it up took it the wrong way around the exit and when he brought it back down it got caught on the barrier and put a great hole in it. That and it getting caught on the old dear just below it didn't help.




But also the fools keeping hold of it hven't help at all!

Who owns the flag is it the club or the Ultras (part-timers)?

One lad said he couldn't be bothered going and you're in your element.
Keep it up anyway. Wire trolls seem to have piped down over all this so its fun to deal with fellow Wigan fans who feel a need to rip into a section of our support. I know it inspires me to keep plugging away at the Ultras thing.

Steady on mate I was only pulling your leg. For what its worth i think the flags in the South are superb.

Maybe the club will get the flag repaired as the tear was obviously an accident.

They've already been on and asked us to pay for it!

Rogues repair job?

It was caught on a bolt that was sticking up at the bottom of the stand. I was sat directly next to it on the right hand side on the front row.Dont think the young lad realised until he was half way up the stand.

I was sat on the front row next to the steps with my children. It caught the bottom of the advertising sign which was sticking out. The flag was ripping as they were pulling it up and I could hear it but couldn't do anything about it. It was nothing to do with any of the fans in the stand. It was a pure accident.
