Why is the Wigan V Warrington game being advertised as "Champions Collide"??

Since when have the Challenge Cup winners been called Champions?

I know I'm probably being picky but last season when Leeds played Warrington I bet they didn't advertise it like that!

Marketing, and it's something Wigan are thankfully very good at.

Correct. Could be the difference between a 20k crowd and a 23k crowd.

Don't think we'll get 23k for this one. Only got 22k last year with cheaper tickets.

According to E-tickets we have already sold over 12,000 and wire will bring around 4k so with no more work it will be well over 16k..... Around 20k I reckon.

If we win on friday with a weakened team, its worth about another 2k on top of that i reckon.

I had no problem with it when we did and don't have a problem with it now either, as others have said, better marketing = more bums on seats, and thats what it is all about at the end of the day.

I think the thing with it is. The Champions are now giving you that name too whereas before it was the team that were cup winners calling themselves champions so its not quite the same. However, both are incorrect and both are great pieces of marketing simple as.

Who cares, all i care about is another game of the quality of arguably the best 2 games last season and a result.

And not to forget the entire week before.

Theres 6232 tickets left on e-ticketing so its more like 13.5k sold so far.
Ill go for 17k in the home stands and 4k in the North = 21k

Actually not quite true. The West Stand does not show the comfy prawn sandwich eating seats so the capacity of the home end on E-Ticketing is only 18,646. I guess this is why the actual crowd always is a little more than what we expect the day before through this site. It doesn't take into account the full 5-700 seats in the posh section of the west stand but the crowd on the day does.

Over 300 tickets sold since yesterday, at this rate it does suggest around 15k in the home ends but I think that will increase as we get closer to the game. Should get a really good walk up crowd this one as well with it being such a big game on a friday night.

I think the only way it will get close to a sell-out is if both us and Warrington win this weekend and then whoever wins next weekend will more than likely be top.

Checking the e-ticketing site just now and it looks like its gone bonkers. Check out the east stand...im sat at the north end of the East right next to our Wire bretherin...lovely
