Anyone in the Haydock and surrounding areas prob Garswood, Pewfall, Blackbrook etc lost 2 Springer Spaniels?

Long story but found 2 today about 11am at top end of Haydock and handed them to Leigh Cats and Dogs home who handed them to their 'owners'. 100% sure it weren't their real owners as too much didn't add up.

Said they were chipped and they weren't
Leigh C and D said they had been missing for 2 days and the bloke (really dodgy) said it was this morning but by the look of them had been out at least 2 days.
Didn't bring leads/collars, which after collecting a missing dog with a tendancy to run off you would bring a lead/collar.
Didn't say thanks, where was it found, have they been fed etc just how much they were
Dogs didn't have collars and the bloke said they had metal slip on ones that kept falling off and his wife said they had leather ones and kept chewing each others off???
Were from Earlestown and knowing the local area there is no way they could have got that far in 2 hours and nobody stopping them (going off the lad losing the dog at 9am).

Pretty sure the woman who when I found them I asked were hers (who had 2 already) has got a mate to go and say they were theirs so she could breed them as she rang me up asking if they were boy and girl.

It's a very long story but I really want to find their rightful owners as Leigh Cats and Dogs have dropped a massive bollark.

IIRC - There was a thread a few weeks back on the Saints board about 2 x missing springers (think one was found a few days later). Long shot but you might want to post on there.

Leigh Cats and Dogs home is an awful place! I really wouldn't advise anybody to either drop found dogs off there or send an unwanted dog there. Some of the stories i've heard about that place are really awful!

That's where we got our springer over 11 years ago (still have her), she was only a pup then and had been found wandering around Skem and hadn't been reported missing. Not been since but it seemed okay at the time.

Excuse me, but there is no need to label me a 'Tosser'. For your information I didn't want to post any 'facts' until I could find the news stories to back it up.

The fact I label that place an 'Awful' place is three fold was very much valid. If I ever see an animal in need, I take it to one of the RSPCA or Dogs Trust centres, you know? The ones that don't run their dogs homes as businesses. I look forward to your reply, sir.
