| He's a prospect, and still under 18s so plenty of development time yet, but like Jon Molloy (who you also signed) they are in the wrong position to be breaking into a Wigan team. With Mossop, Farrell and Tuson having broke into an already strong second row area, there is no point them two staying here, in my view. So good luck to them!

| "It's a super signing for us and one that shows how highly we are now regarded in the game by top-line players," said Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis.
More like it shows they can't produce their own players. How many ex-Wigan players do they rely on now?

This is something I've held against Huddersfield before but after viewing a thread in VT, their squad only contains three overseas players.
Although they do need to improve their youth system, at least they invest heavily in British talent.

Agree, but looking at them signing Jon & Matthew, it shows that they will possibly looking towards British players in the future.

Which isn't really a bad thing.
If we can't accomidate young players I'd rather see them go to Huddersfield Giants than Sale, Northampton or Saracens.

if you add Jack Hughes, Greg Burke and Danny Bridge into the equation (who were all ahead of Sarsfield at Wigan) then it was in Sarsfields best interests to move on.
FWIW I think Molloy is a much better player than Sarsfield.

Isn't Matt the son of Leigh Miner's coach Winston? Or Grandson? I'm not sure.

| I wonder what would happen to super league if we suddenly decided to stop looking for local talent. I'm glad the lads have been able to get a go at another SL club but I really do wish some of the other clubs would sort their academy systems out, bet there are quite a few undiscovered Molloys and Sarsfields knocking about in Huddersfield.
