Shaun, who now coaches Wasps, was invited by the hierarchy to hand out the shirts to the Wigan players ahead of the big game. Edwards was greatly honoured and delighted to see Wigan winning and clinching their first super league title in 12 years.”

With several Wiganers in the side, this must have worked a treat. Good on MM/SW/IL again, their attention to detail is second to none.

This doesn't surprise me and really was a masterstroke - the final piece in the week-long motivational build-up.

It was great to see Sean Edwards along with Faz, Dennis Betts and Martin Offiah in the crowd. Were any other Wigan greats there? ( Billy B.?)

How inspiring was it to see "The time of Their Lives" on Sky that same day with Edwards, Offiah and Hanley. Only saw it very very late on Saturday night after watching the Grand Final rerun. Both now on "Keep" on my Sky+ box and will definitely be kept for posterity - like my old videos of the 80's /90's!

does anyone know if he attended?.......seems strange if he didnt.......would imagine he was in the directors box if he was there........
and tbh Billy's modesty would forbid him to make himself show up in a high profile way.
so in typical Billy B fashion i imagine he was there quietly watching.

Yes, Billy was at the game, and he was at the South Stand 'do' at night, fantastic to see the great man looking much better after recent ill health, he was 'made up' about the win.

Was lucky enough to meet him at a Wigan game many years ago; such a lovely bloke. If only every top class sportsman was as genuine and modest; we would have the perfect role models for today's youngsters
