Just a footnote here - the attendance at Knowsley Road on Saturday was a paltry 781 compared to 2,501 for the equivalent final at Wigan last year.

They could have at least doubled that with Wigan fans I reckon if they'd have played Sunday and not clashed with our away day at Leeds. Clueless!

Although very gutted to have missed it! Does make it a little sweeter saints wanted it played to give themselves the best chance of getting a strong team out and stopping us doing the same and we still won!

Shame the Saints fans couldnt turn out in numbers but I suppose in relation to the 1st teams crowds they did!!!

P.S. How did Davies get on? Heard he had a blinder... will he be in your plans next season (first team)?

There's a lot of competition for spots with Fielden, Coley, Lima, Mossop, Prescott, O'Carroll, Tuson, Farrell and Hock (from July) all ahead of him at the moment and only three of those can play back row so I can't see him playing that many games next season unless we get a lot of injuries or he hits absolutely killer form. In fact in may well be worth loaning him out again at the start of the year if everyone is fit, props tend to develop late anyway so I can't see it doing him too much harm.

I'd send him out for the year to Wakefield or somewhere like that.

I know 2,501 was the official figure, but there were a lot more than that in!

I'm just imagining John Kear's face when a lad who can't get a game for us starts tearing it up for Wakey
