Police cars going crazy down Beech Hill Ave. Now i know you could argue 'well its Beech Hill Avenue' but 77 coaches have gone to the DW today.

Anyone seen any trouble?

The only arrests apparently have been two people for ticket touting. I think they are going a way, way over the top with this operation myself.

i saw them going towards the M6 at Bryn. The amount of police is a joke. Who is going to be paying for this you have to pay the police, the hire of the coaches. Why should us folk of Wigan have to sit in traffic while the police flow all the coaches through.

I was down at the stadium earlier, getting my ticket, saw lots of Rangers fans around but all being very well behaved.

If the Police and the club had not worked together to take such measures then they would of been wide open to criticism if it had kicked off again.

The images of Rangers supporters attacking Police in Manchester will still be fresh in a lot of peoples minds - especially the Police themselves.

But I'm not sure the issues that night came down to football. It was more early morning and the Rangers fans left in the city being drunk and having no where to go with all the pubs shut and hotels full and no trains, that kind of thing. They had over 100,000 in the city that day so perhaps a bit of trouble was inevitable. This time its 3,000 maximum. Just seems a bit much to me.

IIRC the trouble came about because of hoardes of Rangers fans coming down without tickets intending to watch the game in Manchester instead. One of the big screens in the city centre that was showing the went kaput and it all went downhill from there. I agree though it's pretty OTT

Without this more than 10,000 would have travelled down for the game, maybe causing chaos again.

Only if they threw everything in the fat, dirty gets!

Even if 10,000 turned up thats not close to the over 100,000 that came down for the UEFA Cup Final (some estimates reckoned 120,000). I'm not convinced 10,000 would have come anyway - this is not a rare major cup final for them.

Even turned the club shop into a Rangers shop. No shame.

Safe than sorry in a way, but the numbers alone suggested the problems wouldnt be half as bad.

T'was all a bit weird. I've not exactly had good experiences of Rangers fans in the past, but can't knock them today - behaved impeccably and a very well-organised operation, the bill for which is being footed by Rangers themselves (presumably it works out less than the risk of a fine for any trouble!)

i work at tebay services on the m6- fans just gone back through about a hour ago- all well behaved, no shouting or swearing!!!

Rangers fans are no worse than any other soccer teams fans. Why does everyone get so worried?

All that for a boring 0-0 draw. Football is the worst sport EVER.

I'm afraid that, in my experience, they are worse than other clubs, but it certainly doesn't represent the majority of their fans, I'm sure.
