very narrow minding imo
but i am gutted for the CCfinal. Anything that makes those nasty little bunch from Chesire more likely to lift the trophy is bad for me.

| Feel bad for the guy but I don't think its as bad a blow for England as some will make out - may even turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
He's been in good form lately but on the international stage over the last 2 years his lack of agility in defence has been glaringly obvious and he's not really been able to follow up an awesome Tri Nations in 2006 with similar performances since.
Prop is a position where England has a few decent players knocking around - maybe an opportunity for the Wigan 8 or 10?

| Gutted for him. Comes across as a genuine honest guy. Hope it's not career threatening
Any thoughts on who will get the England captaincy for the winter tour? The only real stand-out candidate would be Morley for me

| It doesnt matter if he is a respected player in Aus, he hasnt been as good this season as he has previously. We need to stop picking players on reputation. I would rather of had Coley in the England team over Peacock this season anyway.

If Fielden was told to push the offloads like he did yesterday he would be my pick. Mentioned it on another thread but I'm still staggered how its taken 4 years for him to start bringing this aspect of his game into play for Wigan.

Totally agree, in my opinion he should have retired after the World Cup.

You can't be serious?
It's not on 'reputation' it's the fact he's still one of the top props in the country. He may not have had the best season, but every game he plays he'll make the most metres forward, put in the most work in defence. Coley over him? Crazy. Take those C+W specs off

Who is in better form? Peacock or Coley?
So why shouldnt Coley get picked over him. Were not top for no reason, its obviously on the back of great work by our forwards. Graham and Morley would be my starting props after that its up for grabs. As someone has already said maybe its a blessing in disguise. Someone else will get a go instead of the same players being picked all the time that do nothing.

| difficult questions to answer really as i'm guessing you nor me have been to many Rhinos games this year.
If it came down to a clear choice between the both of them though, i'd take Peacock over Coley 100 times out of 100

| Come on, JP has carried the Leeds pack week in week out, look at his Stats against us last week, almost double the metres any other forward on either team made, and loads of tackles too.
Coley has had a fine season, but shouldn't be mentioned in the same class as Peacock.
I'm gutted for the guy that he won't be able to play at Wembley.

Based on reputation, which is flawed.
Whilst you've admitted not seeing Leeds that much this season (nor have I), we have seen how well Coley's been playing.

Have a look at the comparative stats between Coley and Peacock, if that's a poor season I'll have some of that.

You my friend should be on stage.
Everything about JP's game this year has been superior to Coley's.
Coley's played twice more and made less meters.
Coley makes 1m less per carry.
27 less offloads
Less tackle busts
Less tackles
Less clean breaks
Less marker tackles
The only things Coley has in his favour are less missed tackles and less errors.

Coley makes more errors if you take into account the number of times both players carry the ball.

| Peacock started the season poorly by his own standards as I recall but, lately, he's been immense for Leeds. Then again, I have to agree with some of the other posters. I haven't seen him look really good at test level since 2007. His effort is never questionable but he just doesn't seem to have the same effectiveness against the Aussies/Kiwis that he used to. Morley is also fading at test level. For me, Graham has to stand up and be the man in England's front row from now on. Coley has been very good this season, one of several possibilities for the England squad. Eorl Crabtree was pretty good in the 4 Nations last year. Fielden has improved dramatically but still not quite enough in my view. Carvell is very useful. Maybe we should get Keith Mason in there to niggle the Aussies?!
