is this not the most obvious point ever, the world's best supported club are hardly likely to make more season tickets than they can sell so they can have empty seats at every game and they?!? Not sure if its the same as it used to be but having demand for season tickets outweighing supply also allowed them to force people to get club membership in order to get on a waiting list and kept prices as high as possible.
