somehow i feel that we will be lacking at no9 next year,TL is good but in short bursts in this position MM is injury prone.this is a specialist position and wigan always look better when piggy is on the field.this is just constructive critisizm (excuse spelling),but a class hooker is very important in bringing the forwards on and would be the icing on the cake for wigan.

And yet Tommy has a world cup winners medal in that position. But I do agree - we play better when Piggy is on the field. I have been impressed with Deacs lately and feel that if we could squeeze another season out of him instead of him packing in at the end of this one as is the current plan we might get away with it for one year - Sam at FB, Finch at SOH, Deacs at SH and Tommy/MM at hooker. Can't think of any other solution unless we have another youngster coming through that I haven't heard of!

About middle i would say for westy

I'd be tempted to sign Deacon up for 1 final year he's been awesome last few games. Solid in defence, kicking game has been great and put some great passes out. And this would also be a cheap option rather than spend £££ on an Aussie hooker etc.

If Tommy goes to 9 next season then he'll be spelled with Mic Mac.
He is not as effective when he's doing 80 mins and working 2 different spots in the team. That doesn't work, not for Tommy nor most players.
MM rates TL at 9 and if he stays there and only plays 9 then he could be very good indeed.
Don't judge him on playing both 7 & 9 now, this is not what he'll be doing next year.

I would love to see Ennis in the Cherry and White, would be arguably the best hooker in the league IMO.

Good point there I would be tempted to through him in to see how he goes after all as you say if we beat Huddersfield the league no longer matters but its important for us to win the rest of the games to keep the momentum going for the playoffs.

I think that is a question for some of the regular acadamy watchers.

Logan is nowhere near ready for first team action yet. I'd go as far as to say that Carberry looks a better prospect, although to be fair Carberry had a poor game on Saturday in the U18's and Logan who came on as sub was the better of the two on the day (Carberry moved to second row / lose forward)

If Ennis did come here he'd be the best 9 in SL.
We can only hope!
