Hi guys,
i find myself in Manchester city centre on Friday night, so cant get to the match. Does anyone know where i'll be able to watch the match ?

I watched the cup game with Leeds in the walkabout after only finishing work dead on kick off time. It's not too bad in there and i'd be pretty sure it'll be on.

Thankfully i'm done at 3.30pm on Friday and can get a few beers down in Manchester before my lift arrives to Leeds

If the Walkabout doesn't appeal (and I can well imagine it might not, especially on a Friday evening) I have often found that the Rising Sun and the White Lion (Liverpool Rd) will put games on if asked.

Once you get over the smell in the walkabout it's not all bad

It could do with a makeover by the looks of it but i'd watch rugbyleague in any old dump when i'm desperate!

I work in Manchester at spinningfields but I just can't get my head around the city centre. Everything always seems really spaced out for my liking and I end up running out of ideas on which bars to go to next.

I can't get over on Friday - where's the best pub in Wigan to watch?

The Anvil.

I'd been going to ask the same question last Friday before the Hull game re. watching in Wigan town centre. Hadn't done it in a while before last weekend. Ended up in The Anvil as it happens, and it was a decent enough watch in there. Standing room only unless you get there early enough but there's a couple of good size screens in there - propped up the bar for the 80mins and sampled far more of the Moonshine they had on tap than I should have. Commentary was turned down pretty low, but that may be a good thing!

A bit of a trek for you but the best pub I have found in Manchester to watch RL is the Lass O Gowrie which is off Oxford road down a side street which is in between the Palace Hotel and the BBC building. Quality pub.

9/10 they will be showing the game. Good beer too if your into that.

It does get rammed in there when a match is on but the ale is usually outstanding.

If you manage to get in the room on your right as you go through the doors then the sound is usually up at a decent level (If you want to listen to those muppets that is) but you will need to be in there early to get a seat in there.

Not yet, looking forward to tomorrow, I'm trying to get back to the Anvil after home games, but we are busy after matches and it gets late when I leave.

The Manager at the Walkabout will put it on the big screen on the back wall behind the dance floor. He has done for me a few times now. The dance floor is immediately in front of the cinema style screen but the manager left the tables on it so folk couldnt dance til I'd finished watching the rugby. Loads of others ended up watching it as well.
