Again our kicking game was terrible. I am no fan of Briers but he kicked us to death and his kicks resulted in repeat sets and tries. In contrast our kicking game, both short and long produced little and was very predictable. In big games it can be the difference between winning and losing and has been a big problem for us for years. We desperately need to sign a half back that has the good kicking game that ours lack.

It's a big reason why one of S. Tomkins of Leuluai needs to be moved from the halves. Neither provides a kicking game, and it's the one BIG thing the team is lacking.

Our long kicking game was OK, I thought, splitting winger and fulback time and time again, it was our short game (usually one of our strong points) that was poor.

Agree, though I think it was largely our short game that was poor last night - particularly when directly compared to Briers' performance. |

I suspect he wouldn't have been if we'd not had the knocks we did during the game. I don't believe for a second that he was selected on the bench with no plan to bring him on till the 74th minute, prior to the game unfolding. |

Briers has a superb RL brain. You've gotta give him credit. You can see he's constantly thinking about each play and barking orders. Clever player.

Absolutely spot on. Great RL brain, cracking kicking game, and a lot of experience to direct the play - for however much people don't like him, he's a big part of what makes Wire so good this season.
I'd love to see somebody like Finch doing the same for us. |

Yet again we played a game really with 17 men.
What I dont understand why take Riddell of and put a second rower on, yes I am aware that Lockers would move to 6 but there is too many changes for one sub why not a straight sub |
