Reading through one of the rugby papers today, gary schofield has stated that wigan wont win super league, we have already peaked and doesn't know how much we have left to offer. did he not see the game yesterday. yeah we lost, but it was a game that could have gone either way right till the end. we have several key players to return and amos to get back to match sharpness. Ridiculous comments. any one of wigan, wire, saints and leeds can win super league this year and i wouldn't like to predict it but to be written off is plain stupid. but i suppose i shouldn't expect anything else from schofield. we'd get more sense out of hemmings or kear

Schofield is still bitter about spending his entire career in our shadow. How many winners' medals does he have in his trophy cabinete (I mean apart from 'Most Embarrassing Performance As TV Pundit' or 'Worst Taste in Cheap, Tacky Jewellery' ????

I think we'd need to lose every game between now and September to fulfil whatever ridiculous position he originally tipped us for at the start of the season - 7th or something daft IIRC.

Because unless he's got a crystal ball, he can't say who will or won't win the Grand Final in three months' time.

He's also wrong in that he predicted, with some measure of confidence, that Wigan would finish so far down the table that they might not even make the play-offs. Whether we finish top or not, I can guarantee that isn't going to happen.

So that's another reason why he's wrong. I'm sure I could think of more if I could actually be rsed.

Surely a thread directed at the views of Garry Schofield isn't the order of the day? He may be right,he may be wrong we'll see at the end of the season. He's a pundit and is paid to give his views. Wigan have been the best side in SL this season but wasn't at there best against us on sunday.

im not sure if its just the fact that we lost on sunday , but ive just got the same awfull feeling in the pit of my stomach as i did after the challenge cup game at leeds .

Lets be honest pundits with a bit of class when talking about super league would probably pick out who they think will win it. They wouldnt just say team x wont win

I'm afraid that he may have have something there, but i don't think it's anything to do with peaking too soon. I certainly think that we can come top of the table, but in the long term i just don't know if mentally, we'll be able to get over the finishing line. In a high pressure game like the Grand Final i think our inexperience might tell. My mindset hasn't been helped by the Leeds and Saints results...
