Really suprised Morley got off tbh. It looked a poor one for me and the sort of challenge they should be clamping down on.

On the positive side I want this game to be as good as it possibly can be and Morley playing will help that.

As if Red Hall was going to ban Morley (the vice Captain of England) any way. He would have had to elbow drop him on the floor, after his headshot just to get a one game ban.

They are going to appeal Carvell's ban it seems.

They will appeal and both will be playing on Saturday.

I had my suspicions Morley would get off when I read the charge was just for a high tackle. I'm not sure what you can and can't be charged for but surely it should have included 'late' and even 'off the ball'.

Ah well we shouldn't really care I supose. It's going to be one hell of a game and we should all just look forward to that.

What SKY never showed was Sherwin immediately jump back to his feet without treatment as soon as Thaler signalled for the video ref. I seem to recall a thread on here bemoaning play-acting creeping into teh game, perhaps Sherwin should have been in-front of the committee for using Morley's reputation to try and get him sent off?

Perhaps he was but my opinion at the time was it was a bad one, bit late as well. I've seen less result in red cards for Wigan players in recent times.

He got a 1 match ban - thats what they are appealing.

I know that just not seen they are appealing it.

The 2-3 games is the range of "recommended" punishment if found guilty, it's not set in stone.

Ah right. The article on the Wire Guardian paper site was suggesting an appeal was likely.

Can't believe Morley has not been banned!

It really is a joke, yes I am a Wigan fan but the RFL really do make themselves look like idiots!

Take the Ryan Esders ban last week (yes I know it was overturned on appeal) but they banned him for a "dangerous throw" on Mathers in the Warrington match, it was clearly explained that the tackle was made by 2 players and when 1 player fell off the tackle it resulted in mathers ending up in a dangerous throw. No one remonstrated not one Warrington player and neither did Mathers himself however they still initially banned him!

Yet Morleys was more than worthy of a red card, it's embarrasing that the people are expected to uphold the laws of the game if the officials miss it simply get it wrong all the time!!
