| Absolute Classic for those who were at the bottom left hand corner of the Wigan end!
That was the call from a Wakey fan with about 6 mins to go winning 38-24!
As soon as that last try went in we about 50 of us all give it him back!!!! "Look at scorebard!!!!!!"
Anyone else off hear in that corner and enjoy the moment?

| As if you'd take a friendly that seriously that you'd try to taunt the opposition. Just another bitter, bitter punter who has a inner hatred for our club.

| To be honest, I wish I had a quid for every time I've seen a Wakey fan try to rub it in, and then have slink away when Wigan win.
The best one came in Andy Farrell's day. The prat in front of us gave me a V-sign directly in the face because they'd kicked a penalty in the first five minutes. Later on, I didn't notice at which point he'd disappeared - when we were 30 points ahead or 40.

Yes I know but he says in the second line of his post it was a Wakey fan who was taunting Wigan fans about the score.

It's always the same in that away end with every team that goes there. Unfortunately, at grounds where the fans aren't as segregated, you are always going to get a bit of grief. Wakefield seems to be one of the more hostile, and that isn't a dig at every Wakefield fan that stands in the away end, it's just personal experience . Lets be fair though, at least it isn't on a football hooligan scale.

I've never understood the point in celebrating a penalty unless it's the last kick of the game that wins the match for your team. A quiet clap is sufficient imho. As for Wakey fans i'd place them in the same bracket as Cas fans - small time hilly billys. I cringed at the way the Cas fans ranted on about Wigan going over the cap even though it was a neccessary measure by Wigan to ensure they stayed up for the overall good of the game.

And as Bilko stated they beat us twice and were about 8 points clear of us with 7 to play.

| I've always found that Wakefield have a clutch of supporters who suffer from little club syndrome.
It's usually some of the old farts who were forced to watch our dominance of the game.

Exactly!
It's not the Wigan supporters who have the problems accepting that.

| You should listen to yourselves!
Every club has its fair share of Kn0beds including Wigan.
for the rcord I sat next to a group of Wigan fans throughout the game and we got on great.
we discussed the game, relative strengths and weaknesses, new players, young Academy lads etc.. etc..
I even offered one Wigan fan the use of my Trinity scalf when he said he was cold, he declined.
Going to away games would'nt be the same without the banter that goes on, some of it funny and harmless and some of it with a fair share of anger, frustration and hollow threat.
some of you need to take the cherry tinted politicaly correct specs off and just enjoy it all.

Did you expect him to take it? You're right though, there are plenty kn0bheads who support Wigan, and I always seem to end up sat next to the worst ones on match day!

Definanetly, its always the old bitter ones. Last year when we beat them in the cup, Wakey were winning at one point, then at the end when we were walking out one bloke was shouting... 'rugby league must have rung up at half time to tell the players to sort it out, they dont like it when wigan lose'

I agree....but isn't this thread also banter? There is no malice or tone behind it, I think everybody gives as good as they can throughout a game due to heightened emotional response.
I've given it and then we've lost and had to endure the pi$$-taking afterwards, but I take it on the chin and laugh it off. This thread is just banter for me.

The sad thing is that loads still believe this to be true!!
My personal favorite is when home fans sing the old "your not famous anymore" and when you look next week their gate has halved. Oh the irony!

Yeah, that must be painful for them. Talk about reminding them how unimportant they themselves are.
