If this is true, then I would think it will just have reduced capacity anyway, however I do not believe it to be true.

Where do you think the club's money has been going for the last 30 years? In making sure the damned ground passes its safety certificates, which sometimes means patching the old girl up in order to pass. It's the reason why we're building a new stadium!

From what I've heard you are close, but not quite right. The problem is at the Eddington End, repairs will sufice for 2010 but would be VERY costly to repair in the long term,

2010 will be the last at KR regardless of whether the new stadium is ready for the start of the season or not due to the problem.

versio i heard was council are close to condemning the ground which would mean having to play games away from kr- widnes was mentioned.

thought it a bit drastic but interested to know if anyone else had heard anything similar.

Saints have put a very positive spin on next season being the last at KR.
Whatever happens with their new place there won't be any going back.
Whether this is due to the council, terms of sale to the builders or other reasons they have to move out.

Where the on the road games will be played remains to be seen but Widnes and Leigh are favourites I'd have thought.

If the new stadium is a 60 week build then to get in half way through 2011 season they'll have to start construction by March 2010 with no interuptions for bad weather next winter.

Never the less it looks like Saints will be the first in their new ground of all the SL clubs promising it at the last licence award.

It kind of gives me hope that all the others could be done in the next 5 years.

I would love to see all of super league being played in quality stadia infront of at least 10,000 people each game.

Id say its less likely over here if Salford are included.

Halifax are there and Wakey/Cas/Bulls all seem to be getting there.

But Bradford are planning on drastically reducing the size of their stadium for some reason.

Unlikely. The Council has been a major partner in the new stadium plans. I hardly think they will condemn the ground knowing full well Saints are moving out of there at the end of 2010 anyway.

I suggest the reason is they cannot nearly fill it these days, and it could with a few more seats with a cover over it too
