I've not seen that.

However if it is true it does confirm my suspicions that there is going to be a major upheaval in the Wigan coaching staff in the close season.

I would suspect that the "new coach" wants his own staff.

That's very sad .
But as I said I think that there will be a lot of movement in the coaching / conditioning areas of the club.

Will it be secret revolution or a new setup that IL will be proud to announce?

Just to clarify here he has resigned due to ill health and not for any reasons involving a possible coaching reshuffle at the club next season.

Not for us to speculate on what, but he's not well and we wish him all the best in his recovery.

A possible blow for Wigan this because he's been the background man who has brought so many players to our youth academy in the past 10 years who have gone on the become first team players.

It's an endless list of players who've come through recently and he played a big part in that.

Brian Foley brought me to Wigan and was head coach overseeing the Regional Camps I was on. I occasionally do see Brian and I must say it was an absolute pleasure training under him and generally being given advice on issues other than rugby.

Wigan owe this man a hell of alot. Brian Foley was the man behind the introduction of scholarship schemes and he is the man mainly responsible for seeing scholarship players turn into academy players.

It goes without saying that I wish Brian well for the future and I hope he overcomes his illness.

Hope he is given a good send off on Sunday (if he's up to it), rather than not mentioned at all other than a few inches in the local paper.
Not many done more for the club than him, one of Wigan's true unsung heroes.

Lets hope the club acknowledge it, not just claim it was on the website like so many other stories.

Perhaps a pre season friendly could be a testamonial game of sorts for him as a send off?
