| Went to the Quins v Salford game today.
I was absolutely amazed when the game finished the Salford players came over to the fans and shook hands, thanking the fans for coming. They warmed down on the pitch and then clapped the fans when they left the pitch.
Now, before some wag says there were only a few fans, this is something I believe they do on a regular basis.
Well done to them, and I wish our players would do the same.

| That is fantastic.
Funnily enough Denis Moran did this.

| Huddersfield do it too. I think it would be a nice gesture, but maybe there is a health and safety issue with all the fans at the JJB trying to get to the front to shake hands with the players someone's child could be squashed or something similar.

Having two sets of advertising boards at the front doesn't help either.

| The players did this in Perpignan after the play-off win last year when only a few of us managed to get there, due to time, money etc.
Also we got a good rapport with the players in the play-off's with the moustache's

| Without digging at Salford it's could be a little overwhelming with 15,000 fans wanting to shake your hand.
However I for one have hugely appreciated the gesture of players coming into the South Stand Bar following the MOM presentation. Especially following the Leeds win, when Fielden - who hadn't had a good game at all - stayed for over an hour and was still there when I left (I thanked him and shook his hand), engaged in a 'vibrant' conversation with some fans, who I guess were being up front and honest about their views. Most players have stayed for a good while.
RL players shouldn't be distant - they should be a familiar part of the club and willing to engage fans. I won't go on about how we pay their wages but we're all vital parts of the club together.

Some players seem more appreciative of the fans than others and i think it is nice of them to show some gratitude.
Sam Tomkins was the only player to really show his appreciation of the supporters at the end of the Saints game and it meant more because we had lost the game too.
Phelps is another player that always seems to applaud the supporters before and after the game.

| At the end of the game on Friday Sam Tomkins and a couple of others were shaking hands, signing autographs and having photos taken with fans in the west stand by the tunnel, so it's not unheard of.
Maybe they just don't want to associate with the plebs in the other stands...

| I was with Stu on Saturday proudly wearing my Cherry and White, and as we stood at the front watching this, a Salford player (not sure who!?) walked along to me looked at the shirt, frowned then smiled and shook my hand and said "thanks for coming anyway".
The fact they stopped their warm down to applaud the fans as they started to leave was fab. Well done Salford, and the reception from their fans was nothing but polite and welcoming.

You don't half get some funny looks walking out of a supemarket with two crates of ale and five packs of frozen veg.
Oh and as Big Mike found out to his peril - leave the frozen chips in the bag

The players pretty much always do it by the tunnel on their way back to the dressing rooms.
