I've had a fantastic weekend(my daughters wedding and the day after party) despite us getting beat yesterday.


However today was something else

I was walking down to my mams to watch the game at 3:30 and what do I see but a "fan" with a Saints shirt on walking down by the Brown Cow pub in Billinge.

"Shouldn't you be at Warrington" I said.
Clueless stare.

It gets better.
I went up to my daughters brother-in -laws sons 6th birthday party straight after the game.

Who's there but said son-in -law.

"Got home quick"

He said "Stayed to the end" Rolling Eyes

Hmmmmmm

It gets even better.

We called in the Chinese in Billinge and in walked a "Saints supporter" I know.

"Better teams won both semis" said I "What was the atmosphere like"

Quizzical look.

errmm

"I watched it in the pub" Rolling Eyes

It get's better than that.
He then goes admit that he'd pre-booked his Wembley tickets with Saints, so he was a few hundred quid better off.

Priceless.

They took more to the semi than we did so we can't take the micky really.

Don't really understand the point of this post.

There will have been thousands of Wire and Wigan fans who didn't go to yesterday's match, and watched it on TV, and not because it was sold out.

i couldn't go yesterday, only got home from holiday an hour before kick off

I made my views clear on the stadiums. People chose not to go because they assume they'll have no chance of getting tickets.

12k attendance for a CC semi is pathetic. Saturday's match should have generated, and would have generated if the right stadium was used, a 30k gate.

The low gates are self fulfulling prophecies. Small stadiums mean small attendances because people won't make the effort to go, admitting defeat in in their attempt to get tickets before they even pick up a phone.

But what about today's game with almost 3k empty spaces?

I agree, we could of filled the city of manchester stadium for a double header.

That is a damn good idea

Even better have both games at Twickenham along with a Harlequins game to promote the game down there, that would be awesome. Quins RU did it for one game and got over 60,000
