Maybe just maybe its time to bite the bullet and give noble another year... after tonight a team full of kids has beaten one of the top teams in the league in a great game... I am slightly edging on the side of maybe its "better the devil you know than the devil you don't" look at the Catalans etc.. maybe a new coach isnt the answer but a couple of extra players might be... I really don't think we are as far away from trophies as I thought early doors in the season..

If we add a couple of rough and tough forwards Id be interested to see what Noble can do with that. I know all the arguments for letting him go and I agree with some of them BUT if we carry on as we are at present, how can we?

Offer him 4 half year deals just working from mid June until October and get a coach in that can get us preforming early in the season!

Seriously though i think our form at the moment shows how much we miss a couple of big pack men early on in each season. The backs are fine, the forwards are agile but when the pitches are boggy we need a couple of monster props to get us on the front foot.

Rome wasnt built in a day. Noble has had a lot of chopping and changing in his time at Wigan and things happen off the field. He should be given a one year deal immediately and be given a chance to finish off the good work hes done so far.

I think a more relevant question is whether its too late for the club to even consider going back on their decision.

The thing is it starts all over again every year, it is so frustrating.

The side is crying out for 2 'big' forwards early on in the season to help get us over the top of teams on heavy pitches.

We have the best and most productive 1-5 in the compatition imo and a halfback pairing that is gelling very nicely and can play together for 10 years.

We just need to sort the pack.

I think this upturn in fortunes and renewed vigour is everything to do with attitude. Why has the attitude changed? Hock's suspension, no longer a reliance on certain players meaning having to step up to the mark? The team is greater than the sum of its parts. Reminds me of Rep of Ireland at football. Grinding out results that seem unlikely on paper due to sheer determination, passion and attitude.

I think the problem at Wigan these past few years is more to do with culture than whatever coach we have on board. Would a red hot Aussie coach with a top reputation overcome a cocaine charlie culture.? Maybe Hock getting rumbled has stirred em'into action and has gone some way to changing the CULTURE.

To be fair to Noble, I wouldn't call it an 'end of season run' in 2009.

We had a bad start. Shocking game against Wakefield which knocked confidence. But bar one stinker against Celtic - since mid April we've done OK.

The Celtic one is a major problem, that aside we would be right up there now. Yes, it was a shocking start but arent we something like 11 from 14 now?

With a solid half back partnership which will be round for a long time... who complement each other well... were I thought barrett and lulu didnt always... with a few extra players maybe our early season form in the future maybe somewhat brighter.. we have beaten saints, hull kr, leeds and huddersfield this year... then maybe just maybe we are not as far away as we/I thought....

The team's performances are going to be the casting vote in nobles future not what any of us fans want. If we go on to win the challenge cup and get anywhere near the GF how can the board get rid of him would it not of been a productive season regardless of how we started the season.
I for one dont want to see noble there at the end of the season but who is going to be available with the right credentials.

Something like that. And the Hull Kr and Wire defeats were decent efforts - probably a lack of creativity let us down.

There in lies the problem.... do we take a risk on an unproven coach or do we stick with who we have?? If our bad start had continued to the end then yes its time to move on... but the performances have been great and the win/loss ratio recently has been top of the table form.... If wayne bennet or the guy from melborne came available then yes lets move on.. but if we are going to get an aussie assistant who's unproven at the top level then maybe like I said before "its better the devil you know than the devil you don't"

yes the half backs , but the TEAM which the half backs geneerally controll are playing to a plan given to them by the coach

Go on Stu, who is available who you would have to replace noble.. I guess the same reasoning has been behind the re-signing of coley... what other class props are available?? what class coaches are available??

I have been undecided on Justin, he is unproven in play off, semi final, cup matches... yes he can get his team to perfom consistently but what about in "do or die matches"??

Maybe it might be a bit soon after tonights win to sign noble for another year... but if we beat saints again this year and warrington in the semi, then I will be in no doubt that noble has earned the right to stay for another year...

look what he has done over there , then think what he could do here with the resources we have

morgans attitude to the game is fantastic , hkr play a decent brand of RL under him too with limited resources
