I hope young Louis the lad how broke his arm in the half time games recovers ok, my lad has played since the 9s and its every parents nightmare to see their child hurt in the game

Saw him get taken off on Skysports hope he makes a speedy recovery and is back playing the sport quick if he wants too after this injury.
It all starts at grassroots and goes up to international standard.

It was the best moment of the night when everyone clapped for him.

I wouldn't call it the best moment but I can understand the emotional feelings for the young lad

Despite his injury he will have something to tell his mates at school that he was cheered and applauded off the field by 15-some thousand people. A good moment.

i agree, tool, no need for a comment like that. a compound break at nine yr old is an horrendous injury. hope he recovers well. its not about sarcasm or humour, its about what is appropriate and the comment about him milking it wasn't

I think he simply means calling it the 'best' moment is perhaps not the best choice of words. "Emotional', 'stirring', 'touching' perhaps, but not 'best'.

Lewis was taken straight to the Infirmary, where Wigan are hoping a few players will visit him later today.

Hopefully we'll know more in a while.

under 9s he was 8ft tall

plus no doubt he will get his cast and get is signed by all Wigan players and have a vip ticket for next game

My lad has played for the Warriors from under - 8's to open age now.
Played at Maine Rd - Deepdale - Knowsley Rd etc.......But never got to play on the hallowed turf at Wigan.
He would probably have given his arm to do that!


Kids recover quickly, and i'm sure that more than anything Louis will remember that cheer for many years to come.

I was really relieved when they announced it was a broken arm tbh. Regardless, get well soon and get back to playing the great game ASAP!

I think it would be a nice gesture for the club to contact his parents and find out who his favourite player is, and perhaps the club could send that player to see him in hospital or at home.
