Just when you thought the day couldn't get any worse.....................K Pryce has extented his deal by a year according to the Wigan Observer.

On a serious note it seems a sensible move. He's not meant to be on that much and he undoubtably has some talent so it doesn't seem much of a gamble.

Wasn't sure which page made me want to cry the most.

There was however a nice piece on Steve 'Zip Zip Man' Ella (minus the beard), who's been in town over the last few days.

I'm happy about this one as i've always thought he'd be a massive player for us and that still hasn't changed.

A change of coaches like many on our team including Fielden will do us the world of good.

Odd that Nobby's boy wont be going with him?

I did wonder what this means for the Noble situation.

I do have abit more sympathy for the job nobles got on his hands after today but he's still going to have to go some to get a sniff of a new deal.

Good news in my opinion. Needs to make a real impact next year when he gets a chance though to be considered worthy of another deal.

Last chance saloon i think for Pryce at Wigan.

Would be pointless putting in all that time and investment in a player only for another club to reap the potential rewards.

Noble should have dealt with this, im not having the head coach wasn't aware or at the very least suspicious, the fact it has been going on has imo gone some way to explaining the attitude and apparent lack of disclipine within our squad.

He's worth another year if only for the outside chance he could make it big at another club.

Suppose but he can't be with them 24/7 and i'd read it rumoured in the past that Noble wanted Hock out of the club.

He can only put his ideas to the head man and if he doesn't agree he's screwed.

I agree, but surely IL wouldnt want to keep a player against the wishes of the coach, especially if that player was doing what Hock has been found to be doing.

As an aside, why does news like this never get released by the club on the official site or something? I've lost count the amount of times we have found out in Newspapers that players have extended their contract.

Maybe not but even Lenagans hands would be tied to an extent.

Without concrete proof i suppose there would be nothing he could do. He could ask Hock to take a drugs test but if he refused he couldn't have forced him and if he just decided to sack him for the allegadly taking drugs Hock could have taken him to the clearners if Lenagan couldn't prove it for sure.


You'd just hope the players would have the common sense to stay clear in the first place.

Serious question here - why has he not played more this year?

I know he was injured, deregistered, kept off the SC in 2008 but he started in the friendlies at the begining on 2009 and then has hardly played since...

If injured fair enough (though that would be a concern in itself) but if fit and just not good enough then why take the risk of another contract - when you could promote more youth or use his contract elsewhere in the squad.

A mixture of fitness, injuries, lack of form and Gleeson/Ainscough.

He’s been doing well in the reserves but with Gleeson coming in his opps were limited at centre and with the outstanding form of Ainscough it meant if one of our back three got injured Shaun was the first one to be called up.

Defiantly worth a punt for next season as we’ve put so much into his recovery it would be stupid to let him go now.

I still think he’d be amazing at somewhere like Saints with his brother.

Pryce has a heart the size of a pea, which is why he'll never make it.

I can only think the charlie is being passed around to those who decided Pryce was worthy of a new contract.
