Mick Hogan after the kit launch was talking about how long the kit/sponsor process takes, so hopefully, Mecca will renew or a new sponsor will be announced quickly and we wont be left scratching around like last year.

FWIW, I hope Mecca renew, I dont care about the logo, they are a bloody big company and possibly the biggest sponsor in SL.

Theres nowt wrong with the logo imo(don't think we need it in 3 different places though).

Like you say a huge company and hopefully they'll extend this deal so we can get the ball rolling on the new shirt.

It was indeed 1 year, with an option to sign a second year if they wanted to. I think the shirts would of sold far better had they been out before christmas.

Until getting bought one as a present i wasn't going to bother with this years shirt simply for that reason.

It has to be out for the start of December this year.

Or been available in more than Warriors World or online with insane delivery charges.

You can actually buy them in JJB and a few other sports shops now like Sports World (Sports Direct) and since Whelan no longer owns JJB i wouldn't mind spending money there tbh

I'm really not fussed about the Mecca logo in all honesty. It doesn't make much difference... It could be worse, we could have a main sponsor paying less money and end up with sponsors plastered allover the shirt like other clubs, and i'm sure that wouldn't go down to well with the same supporters complaining about the Mecca sponsorship.

Yeah, but you couldnt when the kit was launched, hence Kooga taking it to JJB etc to sell.

Whatever happens, and whoever sponsors the shirt, they need to sort out the back of it. Lettering and numbers need to be put over a panel that highlights it all.

I think Saints have the biggest sponsor in terms of revenue?

I know Pilks are a big company, but they would need to go some to pass the Rank Group who own and run Mecca.

P&O for Hull FC is supposed to be a big deal too.

O.K. so they are a big company and part of a big group.

However, it is the amount they are paying which is key. Would you rather have a small company paying £100k or a big company paying £50k?

Let's face it, this deal was done at very short notice (apparently after Pirtek pulled out) - it is for only 1 year, and have you ever heard anyone at the club talk about the value of the deal?

I haven't - all of which makes me think that this is a low value deal.

I've no issue with Mecca or the club (difficult times after all) but the club must work now on a sponsor for next year, at an acceptable value and avoid scrambling around late in the day.

My understanding was that it was for significant £££ and they were prepared to pay the cash up front, which given the CC was an excellent bonus.

Well you'd be wrong, then. Compared to what they were asking for from other companies it went for peanuts, believe me.

I've also heard this although they did pay up front.
