If memory serves there was some controversy surrounding the 'injury' that ruled Andy Platt out of this game. I remember thinking a lot less of him afterwards.

The Broncos people said the capacity at the ANZ was 64k and there wasn't a spare seat. I went downstairs to buy a second programme 10 mins before the kick off and all the gates were shut.
Doesn't the commentary on the video ask "where are the 10k empty seats. Not seen the video since 1994, have it somewhere but I'm sure that was said!

I always reckon that was Neil Cowie's best game for Wigan, saw him after the game and his face had cuts and over and a number of bruises too.
When the Broncos saw we were without Skerrett & Platt they suggested a winner takes all on the prize money. Jack Robinson took them on and when they lost wouldn't pay up.
Agree that it was one of Wigan best ever wins in the history of the club.

Wasn't this the game when Terry O Connor got leathered by Gordan Tallis? It was a cracking scrap but fair play, Tallis got about 6 punches in before Tez got one back! I remember afterwards and Tez said his wife hits him harder! great prop! great result. John Monie talks about this match in his book (The Iceman) as the highlight of his Wigan career.

Interesting to see a bench with no recongised props. Cassidy for Billy was really a SR playing prop with a SR replacing him.

I remember watching it and the Aussie commentator keeped of calling Offiah (off -ee- ar) it just wound me up all game.

Would Saints, Leeds or whoever have the balls to take the NRL winners on in their own back yard again. Would loved to have seen Leeds and Melborne Storm play in Victoria. That would have been a game rather than having it over here.

Unfortunately I don't think any RL team is - although would be interesting if wigan reached the WCC - all joking aside they are far more famous in Aus that Saints or Leeds.
