(the players aren't listed in a proposed position)

| Roberts must be the one to miss out imo.
He's not been awful but he's not been that good either and the other 5 have all either produced the good recently or have produced the goods over a sustained period for us.

| Quote Noble, who took the decision to rest the youngster after the Easter programme, has included him in his initial 19-man squad for the trip to Edinburgh but will not show his hand until an hour before kick-off.
"That's between me and Shaun Ainscough and the team," he said.
"He did well last week. Sometimes it's about taking opportunities and he did that last week.
"(But) we have a duty of care to the players. He may or may not play this weekend."'"
Ainscough must play , saints are obvs worried about him , he scored those two try's on GF and potter is playing mind games with noble , hope nob doesnt bottle it. If we are gonna start dropping players for making mistakes , o loughlin , hock , fielden , phelps , gleeson etc should be dropped too...

Yet to prove he's anything like that.
Phelps on the other hand has had 3 sensational preformences on the bounce and would be unlucky to miss out imo.
Tbh though it's nice to find ourselves in this position.

| Although the prospect of Gleeson and Roberts excites me for the future I'd give Roberts a miss this week and maybe try Ainscough over that side. I've read somewhere on here that he's a naturally right sided winger anyway. That being said our right hand side get's very little ball anyway so even if we had Offiah on that side he'd look poor. I would like to add that I've never subscribed to Richards being a superstar and if it wasn't for his place kicking, some pressure would be put on him at the moment.

Oh, and I'd play Phelps at fullback.

| Isn't it amazing.
Three weeks ago Phelps, Smith and Coley should be sent packing.
Now we're struggling to keep them out.
Funny old game.
I think we'll miss Piggy on Saturday.
It's a nice position to be in though to have 6 players competing for 5 places in the back line.

Maybe the pressure of being dropped and needing a new contract has bucked them up. That being said, I've always thought that Phelps was a good Rubgy player. He's certainly showed that when joining the line from fullback. I'm not saying he's a natural stand off but he's handy to have on the field in attacking play. My only concern is how he'll cope being exposed* against St Helens.

| Looking at in from another angle, (i.e. who IMO will definitely play), Roberts will definitely sit this one out.
Gleeson won't miss out for obvious reasons - we've just paid a 6 figure transfer fee for him, we didn't do that to leave him on the bench.
Phelps is a favourite of Noble's and his own signing. Also been in very good form in the last few games and will be picked again on Saturday.
Carmont is the dream team centre and has created so many of our tries this year. If he's fully fit, Noble won't leave him out.
As for Ainscough - Noble isn't daft. He won't risk a definite backlash from his own supporters by leaving him out after a 4 try display.
It will be a Phelps, Richards, Carmont, Gleeson, Ainscough backline on Saturday. Unless there is the slightest doubt that Carmont is completely back to peak fitness - if there is then you can be sure that Noble will use that as the solution to the dilemma, therefore he can't be blamed.

Theres something about Phelps that makes you think that he genuinley wants to play for Wigan which means a lot.

Harlequins away.
I would leave out Phelps unless we are gonna play him off the bench. Roberts has plenty experience and I thought he played really well against saints on maunday thursday so we should play him. He is yet to show us what he can really do, he still needs to adjust to super league conditions, what better way to help him to that than playing him in a derby match in scotland weather.

I think it would be a mistake to leave Mickey M out. He isn’t the biggest of lads but he has got some big kahuna’s for sure. I isn’t afraid to mix it and that is just what we need (especially on that cheap shot merchant Wilkin ). Not to mention who else do we have to play hooker (apart from Tommy obviously).
Hansen and Roberts to miss out for me.

Hmmm maybe but no, more likely to be windy and a little bit chilly. That is without looking at the weather, its just a stereotype of Scotland's climate if you like.
