| Watching the Hull derby; it was great to see both hull sides playing and performing well in the superleague, and more importantly a brilliant derby match. However, watching KR running out the tunnel in them orange and grey kits seemed to leave a small chink in the shining armour of the occasion. From what i can gather there is no colour clash between the black and white and red of white and both clubs ? Would you ever see celtic where a red kit in a old firm derby ? or Everton where a green kit in a Mersyside derby ?, No. I mean, i dont mean to put a downer on a great easter of rugby, but the tradition of the game is being some what washed down the drain by the people of the RFL who direct these un-needed kit changes. Thoughts ?

| i hear what you say , but its a marketing ploy to move more shirts
im not 100% sure , but i would say that whenever a team plays away from home they play in the 'away' kit regardless of colour clashes

'" well thats obviously an exception what im saying is games in which there is no colour clash whatsoever, more specifically derby games, there is no need for the kit changes.

| Leeds v Saints. Challenge Cup at Headingley.
Saints wore their red V (home) kit, so it is obvious that the wearing of an away strip isn't automatic.
Why there should be a change of kit when there is no clash I don't know.

You are correct - I can't quite remember when it was changed but we had a discussion on it a few weeks ago.

| It should not be called an away strip but an alternative kit.
All it takes to sort the kits out is a phone call surely.
I remember when Bradford went to wire in their home kit and they were both the same just a different coloured V.
I couldnt really care less though I dont think its spoiling anything, thats just my opinion, but I am really more bothered about the rugby.

| doesnt really matter but i know where hes coming from. why change if you dont need to. Its something we seem to do alot though.
I think the only away games we play in our main kit are against leeds and wire cos our away kit clashes with their home. In reality we should play all the games in our main kit bar salford, st helens, and catalans where there is a clash. Last year though some wise spark had us playin in our HOME kit in perpignan for some unknown stupid reason and you could barely tell us apart.
I would also be in favour of going back to an alternate kit the same as the home one, but in blue and white rather than cherry and white colours!

| At amateur level the home team usually has to change in the event of a clash, possibly because they're more likely to have a spare kit to hand than a team that's travelled down. In SL they're supposed to be alternate kits rather than away kits aren't they?
