| Given the current gloom and doom, I decided to put the info from Bilko's excellent archive into Excel and see what Noble's record is with Wigan. The following info is for the regular rounds only, the play-offs would add 4 more wins and two more defeats.
P80 W42 D4 L34 F1899 A1770 +129
Win % = 52.5
So basically since Noble has been in charge we've won just over half the games we've played.
Our win % in each of his seasons is:
2006 - 61.1%
2007 - 55.6%
2008 - 48.1%
2009 - 37.5%
It's not pretty reading and it shows we've regressed each year in terms of results, despite being able to get a couple of play-off wins to make it look respectable at the end of the season. It just confirms to me we give ourselves far too much to do at the "business end of the season", and while you win the comp in Sept and Oct, you can certainly give yourself too much to do to win it in Feb, Mar and Apr.

| His record is gradually getting worse year on year aswell which isn't too encouraging when you'd hope it would be getting better due to him having abit more salry cap cash at his disposal as the years have gone by. His squad is probably the biggest it's been in his time and he's not having the injurt troubles that dogged Millward and Betts.
The Easter period is going to be huge for Nobles future imo. It's unlikely we'll pick up any points over that period and dependant of the nature of defeat he could well be out of the door.

| Noble joined Wigan after 10 games of the 2006 season. He'll have been in charge for three seasons' worth of games after the Catalan match, which if we lose that and Stains may well be his last.

You say that but surely Wire will come good at some stage (and Stu will be impossible when they do!); they're just having their usual choke at the start of the season and not the end. Therefore could just be battling Bratfut for 11th.

| We'll make the play offs easily. I've no doubt about that. But I was really expecting a strong top 4 push this year though and that looks far off. Very disappointing.
It's not just week to week incosistency. Throughout Noble's reign here we've always started games far too slow, especially at the JJB. We always seem to be chasing the game. If we are leading after 20 mins or at half time we rarely let a lead slip because we always finish well.
I still have some sympathy with Noble because they hadn't planned for Barrett to go early and I do believe had he been here we'd be 6 wins 2 defeats ish now because we'd have won all 3 home defeats in the last 20 mins.
But I am losing patience and I am a patient man. I just hope we show up and at the very least compete a week Thursday.

| The thing with Nobles teams over the last few years is that we only just win when we do win.
Years ago if we won we would do it in style and we wouldn't get beat at home unless it was Leeds, Saints or Bradford and not by many points at all.

What makes it even more unbearable to stomach was the fact he stated (at the fans forum) that this squad was by far the best he'd put together.

Doesn't this just show Barrett papered over the cracks?
W/L/A stats confirm exactly what I have been saying for some time, that we have never matched our 2006 performance and that we have gone backwards ever since.

Big call in my opinion, Bradford and Wire both have massive improvement in them and one of them has done something about the poor start to the year, i think the Bulls will be soon to follow there lead, if they do i fully expect both teams to leap frog us if we do nothing, at the moment we are in 9th, if these 2 teams do kick on uinder new managment we are in real danger of not making the 8 and if we do scrape in still stand 0 chance in real terms of being a challenger.
