What kind of reception do you think Calderwood will get from our fans tommorrow?? Personally i hope we give him a good reception. Wigan definately wasn't a club for a winger like him e.g. a winger who needs a bit of space created by his centre.

He'll get a good one from me, until he scores and does his usual throwing the ball into the crowd

he wont get a bad reception from me. and personally i think he'll have a great game tommorow, he has a point to prove now.

Most likely he will get a decent reception from the travelling fans. But back at the JJB in the return fixture who knows.

I think he genuinally loved playing for Wigan and living in the town & I can never fault Calderwood's effort whilst playing for us either.

I just hope he doesn't have a brain fart and start to go all cocky in front us.

Just hope he doesn't do a cocky celebration infront of us IF he scores, That would p!ss me off. I bet he'll have a blinder, Noble definately didn't like him and didnt treat him that well.

Gives us an excuse to sing the song anyway!

Now a small cheer is fair enough when they call him name out. BUT.....

I hope it doesnt go as silly as when Orr played his first game for Quins against us, a number of fans sung for him throughout the game.

He has moved to another team, tomorrow night Calderwood is like any other player, the enemy.

I'd sing for him once at the start but after that he'll be like any other Hull player!

He'll get a cheer from me and I can guarantee that he'll score a try against us after a tap on the 20 yard line

from SL top try scorer to average looking winger in the space of a few months. one of the previous posts was spot on when they said noble never fancied him. seems like noble doesn't like to get the ball out to his wingers and that's what calders needed and wanted. give even a half decent winger time and space and he'll get you tries.... look at gardner.

He wont be, but he will work his socks off to prove a point to Wigan, all this talk about Wigan offering him a contract to stay was complete tosh. Noble didnt rate him as a player, so we got shut.

Give him no reaction what so ever, he's not our player anymore.

When I spoke to him a while back, I asked why he didnt play the night before? He answered "I dont know"

So i asked are you leaving at the end of the season? He said it looks like it, I dont have much of a relationship with the coaches. Or something along those lines.

Noble didn't rate him and we have signed a better player to replace him.

This is yet to be proved though isn't it.

In what way?

Roberts is a better player and it won't be a stretch for him to achieve more than Calderwood did.

Yet to be proven that BNs judegement is right, and we have signed a player what in all fairness is the same as Calderwood. He needs a centre to bring him space to use his pace.

Richards
Calderwood
Carmont
Goulding/Pryce
Roberts

All being fully fit of course.

Calderwood was SL's top try scorer when we signed him. Roberts is yet to prove himself, its only 1 game in.

In fairness he isn't. Roberts is much more classy than Calderwood and will contribute much more to the team. But as you say, we will see..



But he didnt perform like SL's top try scorer when here, so what had gone before is irrlevant.

Calderwood spent his time at Wigan without any service and it seems that Roberts is going to do the same..


The truth is we should never have signed Calderwood or indeed Roberts we should have strengthened in other areas.

Calderwood's game mainly depends on the centre inside him.

If he's given the correct service then he'll do his job, but he needs the right tools to do his job correctly.

With Walker outside him whilst at Leeds, he had a solid partnership and good understanding with his centre and they combined well, but at Wigan he had very little service and no foundations to build up a good centre/wing partnership.

Tonight we must be wary of Greame Horne and his attempts to draw/beat defenders to open up space for Calderwood. Luckily for us, we'll have Carmont and Richards up against them.
