i hate to say it but the wire has a point, y does the fact hes aussie and played representative football does that make im a quality signing, whilst ignoring the fact hes been rubbish over here, no matter what rumours are around about the leeds coaching set up,

Nobody is saying he'll be class, lots of people are saying it's always good to have an extra experienced body in the squad, especially at prop.

It really is a no-brainer.

It's not rumours - Leeds are all over the show this year, due to the fact their coach is utterly inept.

No-one is questioning how well Mossop has played this year, for instance. Put him in a Leeds shirt, and training under McDermott all year and he'd not be receiving the same praise.

As I said not jumping for joy. I for one though am willing to give anybody a try. Hope it turns out good, we will see end of season.

Like Odem, I didnt see the need when Prescott was fit too but now hes injured too and Fielden has apparently had a setback I can see the need for him. It doesnt help the guy that his time at Leeds has made him look average at best but a SoO player tends to have something about him so we shall see.

If it means others dont have to play carrying knocks and can be fresher at the back end of the year when it comes to the crunch im all for it.

I admit im a doubter. If it proves a masterstroke, i will be the first to hold me hands and say I was proved wrong.

Wire fans are sheep they have no concept of independent thought thats why.

90 odd games in the NRL got him rep honours. 10 games at Leeds he was poor. He might not pull up trees but we've got him for half a dozen league games, at least one cup game and however many play off games we have. I was iffy about the signing at first but as people have mentioned he brings in experience, competition and cover for injuries. We've seen we're not as effective with only 3 recognised props especially against the bigger packs and this could be a very shrewd move to counter that. And if it isnt, he wont have played many games and its no big loss to anyone.

It's low risk from Wigan's point of view as far as I can see. We don't stand to lose anything as he's only here short-term, and if he does get fit again and makes his way into the team it could prove an inspired pick-up, especially if he helps us to another Grand Final. If he doesn't manage to break into the team, it will mean that the guys we have already are playing well enough to keep him out of contention, and it won't matter anyway because he's off to Widnes leaving us a free quota spot and room under the cap

I have no issue with this signing he has proved him self in the NRL and was held in high regard there, it's great to see IL and management are ambitious in bringing an extra player in to see out the season.

Not only have we just secured a proven enforcer but we also have one with a point to prove!

Great bit of business by Wigan.....once again.

Talk about drama queens. We've made a short term signing in a position were we need cover. We've signed an experienced aggressive front rower who played at the highest level.

Worst case is he doesn't play every game.

Hardly doom and gloom considering he's here for 10 - 12 games before he heads to widnes.

He's done well in the NRL but seems to have been discarded at Leeds.

Got to say I wasn't all that impressed when I first heard about us being interested but with all the injuries it seems to be a great move.

Even if it doesn't work out he's not here for long anyway. Just a shame he's agreed a contract with Widnes for next year; he'll be fantastic now!
