| I'm massively impressed with Dudson.
He's got the size, aggression and talent to be a top tier prop. Every single effort and measure has to be applied to making this so.
It's up to Wigan to make sure he delivers on 100% of his talent.
Crosby also has a massive future as he's a big lad but a very clever line runner.
If any of these kids had the 2nd name Burgess they'd be spoken about the 'next big thing'

| Honestly, Id never heard of these 2. But this is what I like about wigan fans. You have some youngsters who do well in the reserves, you dont bleat about them. You wait until they make their mark in the first team before the superlatives flow. If these 2 played for saints reserves and had a decent game, Saintsfan would have started a 17 page thread about how they were going to rule SL forever and StPete would have claimed he had known them for years and was their drinking buddy who he gets all his (made up) info from

Are you trying to get yourself banned from your own board?
If there is a difference in attitude I think it stems form the fact Wigan have produced a lot of our own players for a long time. It may be relatively new idea for Saints. Shaun Edwards was a Wigan junior for example. Things did go a little awry under Noble but for as long as I can remember we have always had a production line.

| Top marks to both players tonight, the Huddersfield pack are no shrinking violets, although I think they were outplayed....and there's 3 injured/rested props on the sidelines.

| Dudson and Crosby looked like they were regulars in the pack, and Wane certainly has the squad very well drilled. Watching the game, I winched every time Crabtree got the ball. Seemed to me that they really went for him, and that must have affected the other members of the Hudds pack to see him getting battered and mauled every time he got the ball.

| Great from both lads, Dudson is going to be a monster, can't wait to see him develop, special mention should be made of Crosby, making his S/L debut in a game like that, outstanding.

| I thought Crosby did excellant tonight and Dudson did ok too when he was on. I was really worried about our bench pre match and they all did well when they came on.

| Crosbys is an interesting story.
He wasn't part of the U18's academy and to the best of my knowledge wasn't in the scholarship earlier.
He came from St. Pats straight into the U20's in 2010 and really impressed with his work rate. I suppose late developer best sums him up.

Some players do get missed or overlooked tho.
I guess he's lucky that he's not had to go the way of Chris Hill in that he didn't get snapped up by a SL side and had to cut his teeth in the lower leagues trying to impress.

| How Dudson didn't keep his place in the team after his first couple of matches is a mystery to me. Did everything asked of him and I like his attitude and go forward. If he keeps this up and loses out again when others comes back it'll be like the worst of the Noble years again. The worst example of which was dropping Mossop from the 2009 semi final v the Dire after he'd been our best forward for the previous few matches because Locky and Bailey came back (and Bailey got injured again).

| Dudson this season has been our 4th best prop on form and that should ensure him a place even when everyone is fit in our strongest 17.
Lima, Prescott and when fit Mossop have been our best 3 and are all superb players so they're all nailed on starters. After that Lauaki has done better then expected, Flower is a really handy squad player and Crosby I believe will develop in to a very good player but Dudson's performances have stood him out as the man that deserves that 4th spot. He's only young but he's a huge lad and has clearly worked hard on his fitness whilst at the club. He gets stuck in and shows aggression in the right way whilst keeping penalties and errors to a real minimum. His ball control is very very good.

| He's quite an usual shape Crosby. He's very rangy as well as being quite thick set.
I like Dudson although I thought his first stint in the match was quite poor. He didn't run the ball in with much oomph to begin with.

To be fair, Dudson isn't one of our youngsters, he was picked up from Crusaders.
We also have another couple of good prospects that will hopefully come through in 2 or 3 years, in Burke and Spencer.

Absolutely.
We're missing four prop forwards - Stuart Fielden, Paul Prescott, Eric Lauaki and Ben Flower - yet we can still put four props out who can do the business and win the forward battle with Tom Spencer also a 5th choice option. And this is without pushing any back rowers to the pack.
We've played 8 prop forwards this season. Stuart Fielden a senior prop being the 9th who has yet to play.
Unbelievable.

| yeah but we don't have good strength in depth, no better than most teams (this is the opinion of other teams fans, not my own)
its unbelievable that we have 9 props who can all play in the tough games and dominate high class opposition.

I read the first sentence and immediate thought "Brian Noble" before I read further!
In my opinion one prop or another will always lose out whenever Lauaki is fit regardless of form. As Dudson is a junior member of the team he will be first for the chop. Lauaki is Wane's "Brian Noble" player. He signed him, he [iwill [/iplay him.

Played his amateur stuff at Hindley, had 18 months out of the game, joined St. Pats didnt complete a full season before joining U20's, so he's not done too bad, although i would never tell him that
