What are peolpes thoughts?'"
id play ainscough, as a few others have said. the lad looks like he could be a bit special. reminds me a bit of henderson gill when he sets off. impressed me in the warrington game.

| Unfortunately, I seem to remember him impressing pre-season last year too, but still couldn't make a break into an under-performing team early doors. If these lads aren't given a chance, then they'll look at moving elsewhere themselves - why wouldn't they?

I think what you've got to realise is that he was still at U18 level last season.
He has plenty time on his side.

| I think we all hope KP regains full fitness because he is one hell of a player when fit but unfortunately it looks unlikely and it is going to take a good while before we found out if he can get back to his best

Ah - sorry Bri. Thought he was slightly older than that - still got some time there, but could do with at least a chance, eh?

| It has to be Ainscough for me, he easily out played Pryce in the Warrington friendly and that was Pryce's best performance of the pre season!

Rogues - Appreciate that Ainscough's only young but can you grade out of 10 both him and Pryce on the following criteria based on your knowledge of the both:
Acceleration
Speed
Step
Tackling
Positional play
Fitness
Attitude/Morale
The above would quickly suggest who should start if Phelps is out next week.

Exactly, we need to give Pryce time and patience. We're too quick to jump on the "he's no good" bandwagon. Give Pryce time, he'll come good.

| I would give Ainscough a start even if Phelps is fit.
Mine would be Richards, Roberts, Goulding, Carmont, Ainscough.
Youth, experince and real pace in there.

| It's catch 22, Pryce needs games to get back to his previous form but going off his efforts pre season he's not ready to build up match fitness. Pryce will likely improve and cement a spot in the 2nd half of the season, pushing Aincough further down the pecking order. This is the chance Ainscough will need to take so I'd give him a shot.

| Pryce needs time. When Wigan signed him it was said to be long term project. Expecting him to play only 15 months after being signed is asking too much surely.

Agreed, Richards is obviously the safe bet a fullback with Roberts just settling in. Also pairing Carmont and Ainscough gives Ainscough cover in defence but he also gets put into good positions by Carmonts great passing game.

| Pryce has done well tbf.
A lot of people on here came out and said they doubted he'd ever play for us! He's taken that first step, which is a massive step btw, and now he's gotta be playing regularly in order to get confidence and form.
It's a no brainer really; no one can come back from two seasons off and be in a good vein of form straight away. Of course he's going to be slow and off the pace. He needs game time.
We are far to quick to write players off at this club. Pryce is one player who we have to give a lot of time to cause he’s got undoubted potential

Agree with that
I fear that if the likes of S. Tomkins and Ainscough don't get their chance sooner rather than later we could end up losing them which would be disastrous

| Roberts and Richards both picked up knocks as well
Phelps is most likely going to miss Castleford next week.
Ainscough could well get his chance, I would like to see Pryce included if he's going to get match fitness he needs to start somewhere.
