| Hock is a quality player on his day and defiantly one of the best 2nd rows in SL. When Hock plays well Wigan play well which is a massive complement to the guy.
BUT;
Like the rest of the Wigan team he’s struggled to maintain any amount of consistency week to week. One week he can blow any team in SL away with ease but the week after it’s fair to say he won’t be that good or have the impact on the game a player of his talent should have.
If he wants to be truly classed a top player then he needs to find the consistency other forwards like Faz, Scully, Cunningham & Peacock have or had (even consistent form like Graham had last season should be the bench mark).
I really do think if he can have big or good games week in week out like the players I mentioned above did or do then he could be one of the best 2nd row players we’ve had.
The talent is there.

| I like players who take the line on with the determination to make a break. Therefore Hock and Sam are my two favourite players and Ainscough isn't far behind. And Tommy.
Some players expect to be tackled or won't attempt to run through.

| He's a very talented player, and seems to have curbed his aggression. Now he just needs to be more selective with his offloads and he'll be one of the best in the world IMO.

| He certainly is looking quality this season. Everytime hes got the ball he looks like he could make something out of nowhere. Also liked how he was sticking up for Tomkins at the end there.

| Got to admit, i've always enjoyed watching him play. Love his aggressive running, and is a real handful for any defence.

I would agree, there's more quality props than second rowers.

| See that Hock was limping off after the end of the Wakey game.
Also noticed the trainer on to him during the game.
He is essential to Wigan's current form.

I am not so sure about that, Coley has had a huge influence, he is playing well which has take the workload off the rest of the forwards which makes them play better, therefore our pack has been laying the platform and this alloows our backs plenty space. Hock has been outstanding though, he is not the only one on good form though.

They said he had a tight back thats why the trainers were on at Murrayfield and Wakey with Hock lay on his back crossing his leg over the other one to stretch it.

Agreed he has been fantastic. Has always been solid in defence but seems to offer a lot more going forward now which he has not always done before.
Gareth Hock is an outstanding player no doubt about that. He does try to make some offloads in impossible situations though at times but I guess if it comes off for him people will say it was the correct move and if it doesn't people will say he should have kept hold.

| Gaz Hock can be the best backrower in the league on his day but he just needs to find that day a little more often. He's getting there in consistancy terms where nowadays i'd say he finds it probably 3 games in 5 where before it would have probably been more around the 1 to 2 games in 5 mark.
He's almost unplayable when he preforms as he did yesterday and as i've said in the past is our best player on that form.

He's devastating.

It's a tough thing to look back on but you can't help but wonder sometimes where the club may be now if Greg was still with us.
His guidance towards the likes of Hock and O'Loughlin and towards guys thats left like Brown and Robinson would have had those players careers onto another level imo.

| Quote ="Cruncher"Quite a few Wigan fans don't rate him either, which I find puzzling. I'll concede straight away that he's not one of the best in the country, but the lads works tirelessly all through every game, and now that he's getting his offensive act together as well as his defensive, he's emerging as the sort of all-rounder that any SL side could make use of. However, I don't believe he's creative enough to play loose forward.'"
I think he is creative enough to play loose forward that ball to Paat for Carmonts try on Saturday is a good example.
Over the course of the season so far O'Loughlin has consistantly been our best player and has really stepped up his attacking game as well as continuing to give us his ever awesome defence.
A dead cert for a starting england shirt in the 4 nations and is probably the best 13 in the league at the moment on form.
Back on topic and back to Hock. Hes been fantastic. Awesome destructive ball runner and theres a few around of his kind. Brilliant asset to the side and lets hope he continues to keep the brain farts to a minimum.

Lockers is without doubt the best 13 in the league. His form this year has been excellent and consistant which is more then can be said of most of his teamates.
It's funny how people including me where saying he should be moved to second row this year and he seems to have hit back at those claims by taking his game on another level. He's running, passing and creating for others.
In a strange way i think Barrett leaving has brought him on abit but he's had to take more on his shoulders.

IMO losing greg knocked the club back 5-6 years..we were going places under him.and when he needed to give it up the club lost its leader.
The players would have run through a brick wall for him.we have not had that since.
