You can stick with it but the game is and has changed.
I actually prefer to see the more skilled centres you crave however we are as a sport increasingly going for athletes over skill.
You are failing to miss the point that players don’t generally change positions, however if they do then they tend to be centres to secondrow and more recently fullbacks and halves.
Isa has been a great secondrow for Wigan. If you don’t recognise that I have to question your player judgement.
Why do teams bring in any players? To improve the team.
Wardle isn’t the type of centre that could transition to secondrow but King certainly is due to his style of play (where this all started I believe).'"
Not sure why they've had to have moved there permanently to be considered. The number of centres in recent years that have also played SR and vice versa is probably only bettered by the number of halves to play FB and vice versa.

Apart from Isa how many Wigan centres have played in the SR even occasionally in the last 10 years??
It’s just a total fallacy that centres make a good SR.

If King ever does play successfully in the SR I will eat Pompey. Obviously it will difficult to define successfully but let’s just say he plays 100 hundred games there. It’ll never happen.
If you seriously believe Isa is a great second row then I question more than your judgment.

Isa has been a great secondrow signing for Wigan.
One of the best signings we have made in the last decade.
Is he a super star? Absolutely not, but has he had a great contribution to the team during his 8 year here, put in huge efforts and done at times the work of 2 so that someone else can do the flash stuff.
I guarantee you if you ask any players that played at Wigan at the same time as he has he would be in all their top 3 team mates line ups.

We will have to disagree on this one.
Isa is a decent utility player and I suspect a good clubman but in no way would I put him in the great category.
I can understand that he is highly respected by his team mates but it doesn’t make him a great player albeit he may be a great guy.
A bit of a throwback I would put Mick Cassidy as a very good SR. For me he is far superior to Isa in every aspect.
I’m not anti Isa but I recognise his limitations and he has several.
As I stated before I wasn’t being argumentative for argument’s sake but simply sticking to my opinions that I feel are verified with very few centres who can actually play well in the SR. Obviously you disagree. No problem. Life would be boring without differing opinions.
Enjoy the match tonight.

Will agree to disagree, although I will say Isa was outstanding again tonight….as was King.
Very much enjoyed it hope you did too.

Very very happy with that performance.
Hopefully the injury to Field isn’t too serious.

I don’t think they will know for sure the severity of the injury until they get it scanned, could be weeks could be months, Peet just confirmed he won’t play next Friday no matter how positive the scan results are which I would have to agree with, hamstring injuries are not ones to risk.
The positive signs are that it didn’t massively stop him in his tracks, he didn’t look in huge pain and he walked off the pitch without assistance. Fingers crossed.

Hope to god it isn't a repeat of 2021. The downside of being sl reliant on two players is things look very precarious when one of them go down.

| We potentially missing fields and Wardle next week. Not sure if thornleys fit enough for the full 80 so do we ship Isa to Centre and bring Shorrocks on to back row. Start Powell at 6 and put Oniel at 9.

Cust if he can play but sounds like he’ll need surgery/extended rest.
Astley if he’s ready if not Powell, with O’Neill doing big minutes.

Well let's wait for the scan - hopefully we get lucky and it's a 4-6 week job. Shame Hampshire isn't ready yet - as it is looks like a combo of Powell and Smith....

| Just a note, Willie Isa was class tonight, full of energy and aggression in attack and defence, great line speed and organisation on that right hand side.

Maybe not worse, but nevertheless, Wardle's was a yellow all day long as far as I'm concerned. The others, not so much.

| Attackers are getting so good at passing right at the line these days. You see at least one of them shots etc game. Wardle was late but wasn’t too high ( if I remember correctly).
Late = pan
Really late = 10 mins
Really late and direct contact to the head = red and ban.
They’ve been less harsh will bans this year so expect just a fine.

| The reason I think he'll get a ban is because Gareth O'Brien failed his HIA. Not sure if they're supposed to be taking that into account but reckon they will regardless.
