Well, we kinda do, but surely 'magic' is just a bonus, like that try French scored. It's not what any team should be relying on to win games week in, week out. That takes organisation and planning. Ideally you have both in your locker. We currently look some way off that.

| Good to see Bullock and Clark involved, how Clubb was picked ahead of Bryne or Havard baffles me though

I can see Toronto scoring (maybe even going into a shock 0-6 lead), but my guess would be a 16-6 win. But knowing us we could lose a game like this, more pressure on Wigan than Toronto tonight.
Let's hope not though eh?'"

I can’t claim to be right as such but this performance is what I feared. It’s bloody awful, no movement, no go forward. Saints, Warrington and Hull will stick 50+ on this poor Toronto team. It’s just nowhere near good enough.

You will easily be top 5, purely because the standard of rugby league is so bad these days. In the late 90s this Wigan team would be fighting against relegation and the saints team that walked super league last season would be mid table at best

| Honestly it’s an awful performance, despite the 22 point margin of which we only got in the last 15mins when they’re tired and down to 12.
Toronto should have been put to the sword. Instead we did our usual clueless attack.
Tony Clubb and Mitch Clarke might as well have not played.
Bevan French was outstanding once again. He must go to the halves with Jax for me.

| We are 2 from 3 and always get better as the season progresses. Hastings and French are improving each week. Add in Gildart and hopefully a fit G Burgess and this team could be special.
I bet we’ve had exactly the same thread three game into the season for the past ten years!

What is this obsession with French playing in the halves? He’s scored 3 tries in 3 games at fullback and has been our best player by a mile, if he wouldn’t have been at fullback tonight we certainly wouldn’t have scored our second and third try and probably 1 or 2 others, Keep Smith at 7 and play Gildart and Zak in the centres when Ollie is fit

For me when Hastings and French link up we look our most dangerous and likely to score. That’s why I maintain he should be in the halves

Yeah and that comes from French linking in round the back on a block play, Smith and Hastings have the making of a special partnership in the halves and should be left for a while to get them used to each other

| There's a definitely a team in there somewhere - they just need to be encouraged to play some bloody rugby! Dull, predictable one out play for much of the game but glimpses of real quality. The tries we did score were good to watch. God knows where we'd be without Bevan French - talk of moving him from full back is insanity.
Our completion rate must have been high so that's a plus.
I personally thought Clark and Bullock did OK off the bench and Smithies had his best game for a while.
Joe Burgess aside from his try was really struggling.
I thought we were unlucky with some penalty calls along with the two forward pass calls early 2nd half.

Fair enough. The only thing I’d say back to that is when Gildart is back we may well see Zak to FB.

Surely Gidart's return just knocks Bibby to the reserves?
French attacking from FB is one of the few bright spots we've had this season.

Possibly yes. All options are on the table really. It’s good to see we have such versatility in the back line but equally I struggle to see the point in signing Bibby if that happens

I agree with most of that.
Personally I think we are just too slow in everything that we do.
If I were Liam Byrne I'd brast Clubb next week in training.
TC is a joke at the moment. Another game with zero input.
In French and Hastings we have two top players. Put Holbrook in charge and we would have posted 50 plus tonight. Lam still looks spaced out.
It will sound contradictory but the team do seem to be together particularly in defence.
Far from happy but glad of the two points.
In French I believe we truly have a potential star. I just hope we have the team to let him shine.

| Yeah, I'm very happy with French at full-back, he was excellent in attack and didn't let us down in defence. But Toronto are a very ordinary side and they still managed more offloads and moved the ball around more than we did for most of the game. Hastings is a quality player and Smith looks to be coming on nicely. But we need to get away from the awful one-man rugby we played in the first half. I hear plenty of criticism of Lockers for being too old and too slow, but once again (happened last week too), i was glad he was there to make those tackles others missed when the opposition broke away. That shot to the face stopped him in his tracks with the try-line at his mercy; hope it's not too serious. On first viewing, wasn't that impressed with Clark, but Bullock did well, nice to see him appreciated by the crowd. Let's hope that try does do something for Burgess's confidence.
