I think Charnley's the better prospect. Marsh is tiny, and he just tucks his head down and charges at the line. There's nothing else to his attack.

There is a lot more, he just hasn't fully adjusted to SL defences yet. And defensively, he's excellent.

As if someone just said Sam was our best player..... I rate Sam very highly but I thought he was our worst.

I tend to agree. No shortage of effort, but he seemed to spend the whole game on an ice rink.

This is clearly an aspect which can be coached and brought into his game. Defence wise he is extremely solid.

I've not been Marsh's biggest fan but I thought he had a decent game last night. Like other posters have said, I think he plays with his head down too much for centre but with his speed I'd like to seem him on the wing. I was unsure about his defence in his first few games but it seems much more solid now!

he scored out first try. give the long ball to pat richards for carmonts try. was the only one who looked like he was trying and didnt make any mistakes. from a very bad team performance how u can say he was our worst player then u have obviously never played a game of rugby in your life!

Maybe it is because he has set such a high standards and he didn't meet those standards....

Watching the game he was too easy to read, far too predictable!

so because he didnt meet his own very high standards he was our worst player? fair enough he probably should be playing stand off especially without deacon and finch at the moment just isnt do it but that doesnt take away the fact that hes still put 100 percent in and was at the heart of everything wigan did good(which wasnt much!) but still he was involved!

Madge obviously fancies him overly Charnley, but with either in the centre we are alot weaker in that position than last season.

We need to settle on a 17 and stick with it.

we must have two marshes in this wigan team cause the marsh I have watched is a defensive liability, never passes the ball and seems to have problems catching it as well.

The "defensive liability" who made 2 great tackles in a row on our own line, another that stopped a break and forced the winger in touch and was the only player within 10m for both interception tries, despite having to run further than anyone else?

But the problem is Wigan fans keep expecting a 20 year old who has played 14 first team games to slot in at centre and automatically be a 100% replacement for Martin Gleeson who has played over 300 matches + test matches, played in a few finals etc etc etc. The lack of patience in some fans staggers me. I mean 14 games into the lads career and you and others have written him off totally not just as a Wigan player but as a Super League player. I find it unbelievable! Give the lad a chance!

spot on thats some of the reasons i give him M.O.M and no 1 else stood out in that game for me .

His defence was shakey when he first broke into the first team but he has improved with it massively. Wigan fans just see him once and assume thats how he plays all the time. He has been gradually improving with each match he plays.

Good for him.

He tried hard on Friday I though he was one of the better performers along with S Tomkins and Mossop. The pack were well and truly hammered. I was sat near the dug out and the size difference in the Catalans bench and ours was obvious.

Henderson, Menzies, Sa and Dureau had a field day. Watching Henderson control the game showed that McClorum is not effective enough to be playing so many minutes.
