| You need to work out how to use the quote.
Yes thats right all 3 are in the first team when fit and 2 of them form a centre and wing compo but yet we only missed King.
=#FF4000Cut out the personal insults please. This thread has the potential to turn into a slanging match without your help. mods

| Apologies about the quoting problem, my phone never seems to do it.
I'm only going off the comments about Evans from your board. Atkins is not exactly ripping it up is he? Why do you feel the need to compare how many injured players you had? You won remember! Although I wouldn't use that game as a yardstick for where Wigan are right now, but hey ho that's me.
Personal insults? Really?

| Evans is still a kid he played for England U18s not long ago.
Why do you feel the need to compare how many injured players you had?
It was in reply to another comment about teams being weaker, why you had to start making stupid comments to it I don't know hence the thick question.

Shame that. I wanted 2 fully fit squads then there were no excuses either way.

| I was 50-50 on who would win in we were fully fit. Now looks like Morley and Harrison are out, thats us down to two front rowers, i cant see us winning this one.......
Leaves us with only Wood and Carvell with Cooper as sub prop.
Looks like Westwood will be doing a stint in the front row.

Harrison starts at 13 for you men doesn't he? And I'm not having that Solomona is anything other than a prop these days

| He does and he doesn't.
Depends on what Smith decides on. I would have thought with Morley out he would have had a pack of:
Carvell Monaghan Harrison
Westwood Anderson
Grix
With Wood on the bench, he has been known to use this before. Although you are correct in that he has been playing loose in some games for us.

| A Wigan win.
There's a lot of talk on here about the strenghts and weaknesses of various players on both sides..in my view individuals will count for little...this game will require a mamoth team effort.
It will be an epic battle..and one things for sure Madge has proved time and again that when push comes to shove and our backs are firmly against the wall..we always deliver.
Its that simple.
We will defend like trojans and finish them off last 20 mins.
We have a very good team and the best coach in the competition..have faith!

A funny statement, only because ever since Maguire took over Wigan have been anywhere but having their "backs firmly against the wall".
Which are the instances you are thinking about? I hardly think that Saturday can be described as such - it promises to be a hell of a game but neither team has their backs to the wall.
There is no doubt that under Maguire Wigan have continually delivered though.

| I think he means games like at Knowsley road last year with 12 men, Leeds play-off game at Headingley and Huddersfield away this season. We went to an in-form Huddersfield, and won convincingly without the likes of Sam Tomkins, Pat Richards, Gleeson (at the time) Fielden, Deacon, Finch. It was certainly 'backs against the wall' stuff.

| Quote ="Wire_85"What a load of dross.
No pressure on Wigan at all? we are the one's who have had the cup for last 2 years and you are the ones who need to come take it off us.
Weaker Wigan side last time? check the Wire team.
Where are you getting this "mental edge" from?'"
apologies, i didn't make it very clear in my original post, what i meant to say was that the wigan side was weaker than the wire side at the DW earlier this year. but to be fair although they are great players i don't think losing either of the players you mention in Matt King etc compares to not having the current MOS in your side, whether fit or not!
we simply have the mental edge (IMO) due to toppling you from the top of the league. this game not only decides who progresses in the cup but it also will tell on the league too i think.
a wire win at the weekend and wigan will not only be dejected at a loss but wire can also take that confidence into regaining the top spot in the league and doing better than last year in the playoffs.
a wigan win at the weekend and it could prove very significant in the league too from a confidence point of view for the wigan players and IN THE PAST at the final hurdle wire have sometimes "bottled" it as some would say - no myself - but some would say so.
hence what i originally said

| g Quote ="Fatbelly"No you don't
Sam or Brett, Long term there is only one answer but based on this season again there is only one answer.
Josh or Joel. 2 nil to the Wire
Pat or Matt, Pat is a great kicker but sorry.......3 nil
George or Ryan, difficult but George has been playing well so 3 - 1
The other centre spot , don't know who you will play buy either way he won't be as good as Bridge 4 -1
Tommy L or Myler, close but I will give it to Richie but only just, 5 - 1 (bit of a lead here guys)
Finch or Lee, Finch is coming good but 6 - 1
Your two Starting Props whoever you choose against Moz and Carvell makes it 8 -1 to the Wire.
Ryan against Benny W, Benny is a winner (and you know it) 9-1
Hock vs Louis perhaps 9-2
Lockers Vs Grix, Simon has been great this year but clearly Lockers 9 -3
Oops I have forgotten Mclorram sp Vs Monas
10 -3
As regard the subs, both have injuries so difficult to compare.
Coaches, Smith has be wonderful for us and is building a world class team. But Madge came over from the other side of the world and turned a team of no marks into a great GF winning team, to do that in year is a fantastic achievement. So 10 -4 (but this is closer than a mouses whisker)'"
Classic!

| Yes sight helps, but so does a knowledge of rugby, and Matt King is a better rugby player than Pat Richards.
