So how would we have got around the the 20/20/20 rule that was in p,ace when Briscoe was playing, who would we have dropped to give him the 1st team RL he was ready for and with Aston, what ruse would we have adopted so we could match his RU wage?

Briscoe had little option but to leave and Ashton could have accepted less cash but chose not to. Nothing the club could do in either case IMO.



That team was not possible for the reasons given. Certain players move on for the right reasons either right for the club or right for the player. It wasn't a mistake in every case that Wigan born players leave the club.

The 20/20/20 rule was put into place by the club, hence the running of the club.

I don't think we should play Pryce, he just does not seem to put the effort in, I would rather play Ainscough and let him play his heart out.

But then you would have to move 2 players around putting Phelps to Centre and Richards/Roberts to FB.

Better than playing Pryce! Doesn't even stand out in the reserves!

My thinking for this team is (without wanting to be disrespectful to Celtic) to rest a few player like Richards and Lockers (especially with his doggy knee ATM).
This is as good an opportunity as any to give Three Fringe players a run out in their preferred positions. Whilst trying to keep the core of the team relatively unchanged. We will be without our captain but we will have good leaders on the park with Bail’s and Tommy not forgetting Smith who is generally very vocal. TL to captain the side.
We will be without Pats kicking but we will obviously have both Piggy and Roberts who can have a shot.


I dont watch the Reserves but i am curious to know if Ainy and Pryce are on the same wing? if so this would add a bit of continuity to the left hand side of the park.

I like your thinking of giving some young players a go but why does Richards need a rest?

Pryce plays 6 for the reserves as far as I know.

Wigan made an ammendment to their 19 man squad on Friday with Sean O'Loughlin withdrawn and replaced by Liam Farrell. Sean failed to recover from the knee injury which also ruled him out of the England squad.

Purely to give Ainy a runout with out causeing to much disruption. Ie moving richards to full back in order to allow phelps to move to etc
