Doesn't look like the board consider the situations to be the same to me.

Oh and as I've keep telling you (and the RFL appear to now confirm)...it's nothing to do with where the initial contact is or whether Clarkson's foot was grounded and everything to do with the way that Lima unecessarily drove in with his shoulder

The RFL needs to introduce the points system used in the NRL, and make it public too. That way you'd see more obviously why some players seem to be treated differently to others. Even then some players seem to get pulled up more often (Morley in the NRL for example - although most of the time his suspensions were valid, IIRC he got a couple that other players probably wouldn't have).

Regardless of anything else, and possibly a bit unfairly, Lima does seem to be under close scrutiny. You can complain about it, but the more obvious route is to have a word with Lima himself and get him to watch what he's doing.

I also wouldn't underestimate the lobbying by other clubs IF (big if I know) there is a widely held view that Wigan are pushing the boundaries a bit too far. Exactly the same thing happened to the Storm.

I would contend that Lima isn't being done for what he did on Friday night, but because of the 'hype' about bending the rules and 'wrestling'. The RFL at Red Hall are just a gang of idiotic yahoos or should I say a lynch mob ? Hate figures like Kear feed that media frenzy !

I missed the game as I was on holiday in Egypt. I've just watched Boots 'n All and I honestly can't see how anybody can defend his tackle. Admittedly, I think his intentions were to just join the tackle and get him to the floor, but he went about it all wrong. It looks reckless and he could have done some serious damage.

i think even the least of us "cherry & white tinted glasses" wearers will still feel a little aggrieved. yes it COULD have done some real damage but the fact was it didn't and to make matters worse a lot of other teams seem to be getting less citings and being penalised for doing the same things we are supposedly doing so again you can understand why we feel upset about him being up before the beak again when others have done / are doing worse yet getting away with it week in week out.


for me, he does have poor form going into the tackle but it is not aimed at the knee neither is it intentional and the camera replays which show where lima is before clarkson even hits the floor (i.e. underneath him with his arms free of the tackle) tells me if anything it was the momentum of the other two tackling players which caused clarkson to bend backwards in such the awkward way it was - simply one of those things where your boot can sometimes lock in the ground and if anything he is lucky to have got away with any injury i do agree but it certainly wouldn't have been intentional if you ask me and no one whether a fan or part of the game in any way should state otherwise.

hopefully MM's press conference earlier today will put it to bed, although i doubt lima will escape a ban unfortunately which is a shame as i do not think we use dirty tactics at all, we simply use effective and legal tactics which is why we are the current SL champions and other teams who cannot display the same type of skill / plays don't like it. simple.
