Good luck to you in your new stadium and its great to see RL clubs owning their own grounds, but at the end of the day its better for us to be tenants in a 25,000 stadium that can accomodate all the people that want to watch Wigan (apart from the odd sell out crowd) than be the owners of a ground that could barely accomodate our average attendance. We'd have to turn a lot of people away if we had a ground the size of Saints' new ground. So I wouldn't swap our arrangement for yours.

There's no way the council would fund a new stadium, not with all these cuts anyroad.

They contributed 50% to the JJB on the basis it was multi purpose. I suppose if we showed we have had to play games away from home, it isn't multi purpose. I wonder if they could by law get the money back as Whelan is breaking his side of the deal and then give half to us?!!!

I know it's very unlikely to happen, but if the funding did appear, weren't the council trying to get Lancs CCC to move to the borough last year ?
That would suggest there is a plot of land available somewhere in the town.
