Sam tomkins did well but i think Lockers derserve man of the match today. Played like a captain tonight. Keep it up !!

Lockers and Hock both outstanding tonight, Sam not far behind.

Agree with Tomkins MOM though, he controlled everything and his kicking was superb. We needed that to control the game and win tonight.

Lockers, Hock or Tommy. Sam was rather quiet in the first half.

Should have been Hock but Tomkins really came to the fore when we needed it from around the 50 minute mark. He made a couple of good runs, a superb tackle on Talau and then put Hock into a gap that got us on a roll all in the space of about 10 minutes and we never really looked back from then on.

Hock mom with great mentions for Sam, Lockers, Coley, Riddell and McIlorum i thought.

Not saying man of match but Coley put a lot of work in tonight in both attack and defence.

Andy Coley, was superb. But Lockers and Hock were outstanding.

If Myler had defended any further out he would have been on the Robin Park car park, or the canal.

To be fair there not going to leave him where he was for hock to run over him

I thought that

Myler is a rich talent and as you say he defends out wide to try to protect him but Sam (who also defends wide out) is superb in defence and it is very rare that anyone gets the better of him. he just takes the legs and makes sure of the tackle.

The tackles on Talau and then one on Alker as he went to kick on the last were superb.

He came up with loads of little plays in the 2nd half that helped win us the game.

Im a massive fan of O Loughlin and yes he was immense though(from my seat in the 'West stand'

sam got the nod from me, he's absolutely everywhere and tackles like someone twice his size..

Carmont/Roberts to name but a few didnt have the best of games for us hence the frustration and lack of ideas at times but all in all a good win.

Some of the shots lockers put in were massive. Great game tonight from him and hock.

Special mentions to both Tompkins who played myler of the park and Roberts. Thought he had a cracker tonight, we need to get the ball down the right side more often. His work rate is excellent.

Piggy though was woeful, offered nothing tonight. I think about 10 of his balls from dummy half were forward. The reason for this is because it takes him an age to get up and makes his pass. By the time he gets there the runner is usually a parallel with him.
Needs to up his effort 10 fold.

If people thought he was poor last night then he really never will win. He has been pretty poor since he come but last night was a step in the right direction.

As you know I have "defended" him from some posters on here. Last night IMO he didn't do anything different from what he has been doing. In fact I thought he should have run the ball a bit more, but defensively he was very good.

Maybe people will see him for what he is, a ball distributing hooker with a decent kicking game from dummyhalf.

We was never a "scooter" and never will be.

I thought he took the ball out of dummy half miles more but didn't actually take the line on. He'd run it out, weigh up his options and in the main picked out a good option.

I thought it worked really well with him starting and McIlorum coming from the bench.

i done my application no harm when Carmont threw a poor pass to richards preventing a nailed on try, i screamed "COME ON WIGAN THATS VERY AVERAGE"!!!! instead of the industrial tirade id usually shout in the east

I am a supporter of riddell, i am not one of bandwaggon jumping bring back Higham mob.

but i really thought he was poor tonight. most things seem laboured and sluggish. a lot of his passes were forward (i do not know how the linesman never spotted them). solid in defence but lacking enthusiasm for me. i dont think he wants to be here and that could be showing in his performance. he is a skillfull player but does not seem to be bothered ATM. Micky outperformed him tonight for maybe the 3rd or 4th game in a row.

he needs to be dropped until he proves he has the desire. stick TL in at 9 along with MM. Sam at 6 and give Phelps a shot a 7 that would allow us to bring back Ainscough.

I would have gave it to pat or hock both had great games.

may be not MOM last night but thought hansen had a good game out of position. tempted to drop fielden next week to get some fire in his bellly
