Want Leeds to win but think Wire will tbh.



I fully agree with him. As a Wigan fan growing up during the '8 in a row' the cup will always be my priority at the start of the season.

The thing is... With the cup now being in August, it makes it even more difficult for a team to do the double.

I think the cup should be moved back to May.

Then you have cup matches that are your first game of the season which shouldn't happen.

But the Double should be difficult to achieve. If the Double was achieved every season it would lose its value. Only the elite of the elite win The Double, thats how it should be.

Next season I'd love to win at Wembley. But this season has been great, winning week in, week out for the fisrt time since 2001 really. Its been a refreshing change.

Not overly d who wins as its only a "win a few games and get a cup",big deal. I,ll save the celebrations for our season long campaign trophy,so much harder to win. BUT on their day I might just be cheering for super Ryan Bailey,JJB,Ablett and all my other favourite Yorkshire buddies (for a day) to absolutely batter and humiliate the other scum of rugby league (wire)

Is that because we turn up in our thousands, don't stop singing, and support the team?, or is it some notion that we are all hooligans. A bit rich coming from the most blinkered supporters in the league.

It is the final the authorities wanted to change the usual so lets hope it is a good clean non referee decided match.

On something else can anyone tell me when we were last drawn at home against Leeds in the Challenge Cup and how many times away, just for interest as I can't remember a home tie not in the last 20 years or so.

Much as it pains me to say it......I think it will be a great, and very noisy final.
Dislike Leeds 'cos they come from the dark side of the Pennines - And some of their fans are so aloof these days, its unbearable.

I actually turned the game off today, and watched England playing cricket instead. Les Cats were never in the contest and the outcome was pretty obvious after the first 20.
To be fair, it was best for the Final (and RL in general) that Dire won.

I only hope that they knock ten bells out of each other at Wembley - None too fussed about who wins.

He as a right to reply if all you are doing is slagging wire off again. Because we have gone one step a head of you again in the cup and you got nothing better to do is moan and slagg off other teams because they done one better and actually reached a final!

Jesus mate, you really want to have a damn good read of what some of your compatriots post on this board, time and again, week after week. And then maybe have a big fat can of STFU?

Seriously if you're a genuine wire fan you'd understand some of the reactions on here, just as most of us understand when you flame a few of the Wigan fans on your board.

I'd wager quite a lot of the dislike for your club is engendered by some of the 'personalities' you have as fans, and the way they express themselves, either in person or on these boards. And yes I know they're a tiny minority and all clubs have them, but as you'll have noticed from ours, they REALLY stick out and drown out almost anything else.

Personally I want there to be one Winner, Rugby League. If you can both put on a good game, it should be a great final, and i'll happily applaud the best play from both teams.

If my team just got to the CC final, the last thing i would do is come on another teams forum trolling and looking for bites

Bitter pill though it is to swallow, we should actually be glad that Wire have got to the final. The last thing we really wanted was them burning to make gains in the league because they'd been knocked out of the cup. I honestly think it's that simple.

Wembley is a good day out, but it doesn't really have the fanfare of the Grand Final (and never will, IMO, until Sky relinquish their grip). The major prize is still up for grabs, and if Wire, who'e been our main challengers for it, are distracted a little, all well and good.

You could also say that losing yesterday would be very hard to come back from.

Who knows how it will work out.

You're right. I think Catalans will struggle for the rest of the season now.

Whenever Wigan have been done this season, they've bounced back with a vengeance the following week, including after being knocked out in the quarter-final. My money would have been on you to do the same.

If we had lost that would of been 3 loses on the bounce.

I'll actually be going for Wire to win, Wire play good attractive open rugby and can do that without giving dirty cheep shots unlike the Whinos. Wire maybe a rival club but I much prefer the way they play rugby compared to Leeds, at least Wire can say they have deserved 1 victory against us this year, same can't be said for Leeds when they beat us in the cup.

And, to wire's credit, the better teams don't do that very often.

The big test for you now is holding on to 2nd.

Not sure who has the harder run in there. I suppose Hull are a top team but Wire should do them at home. Points difference +347 v +315

Ours is harder but Saints now have no 6 or 7 to lead the team round.

At the end of the day we are fighting for playing each other either at the HJ or Knowsley road.
