Perhaps Salford have offered him a 2 year deal whereas Wire only one.
It could be true as Wire's squad is getting older and older. Next year they will have 10 or 11 of their first team squad over 30.
That's a lot of players to replace over three years or so.
They may have decided to start unloading the over 30s now and replace asap.
Briers leaving would be a shock but it does fit in with Wire's short/medium term needs.

Completely agree NK, that's what I was meaning in my original post, I think Tommy should be the starting 9 next season and Mickey Mac coming from the bench, I don't think the right signing is out there for us, we don't want another stop-gap signing and I would rather we spend money on tying up some of the younger lads like Tuson & Farrell.

I'd rather keep him with the First Team personally. If he bulks up, he'd be of more use at prop that Prescott IMO.

I read this article myself and thought that , but not at any point does he mention himself and if he is staying , and as said in previous posts they definately need some new blood in the squad at wire , theya re getting on a bit . it reminds me some what of Wigan a few years back when They lost 8 players (lam , cassidy era ) at the end of one season and it as taken till now to sort itself out .

Mossop needs more game time and years in the back row before he is moved to prop. He's copped a few knocks in the 2nd row and it's too soon to move him up front! If anyone is right to move from the back row to prop then it would be Gaz Hock if or when he returns.
Hock is 27 or so, done years in the second row and by all accounts has bulked up. Hock has pace, aggression and plenty skill.
He would compliment Fielden, Coley, Lima and Prescott very nicely thank you!
Those four next year later to be joined by Gaz Hock would provide a set of props that's absolutely awesome!

Prescott is playing really well at the moment from what I can see, however, long term I think you are right.

Mossop has impressed pretty much every time he plays.

I would hope the ones in the train on squad weren't there or they would not be playing for England this year.
