The way I see it is this:

On one hand it's great that we have made progress and that Uncle Dave has finally seen some sense.

On the other I don't understand why he has agreed to this only on the basis that IL will pay for the cleaning costs in time for the soccer game to go ahead. I'm sure if we played on the Sunday AFTER a Latics match then it would be the stadium company who would foot the bill (not WAFC themselves)?

We've already paid our lease for the ground which I presume includes fees for cleaning etc so why does he want more?

More than likely it will include fees for the season and not play offs. I dont blame him in wanting us to pay for the work that needs doing as its us thats wants a home game if we lose on Sunday.

For a change DW is doing the right thing. He has defenitely got the message after the Bull's fiasco a few years ago.

Exactly, it was "they" when he sent us to Widnes and made us play on maunday thursday. The guy is a clunt and if he ever gets the statue he wants i'll be the first to "soil" it.

In the link it states SKY scheduled the games next week for Friday & Saturday, obviously the preffered solution next weekend was for SKY to re-schedule.

Which they now have done. As the link states, Whelan was prepared to let us play Friday if Sunday was unavailable.

no idea, but an extra couple of days reast wont harm us imo.......and whelan picks up the cost of the turnaround..

I'm not one of these paranoid "everybody has something against Wigan" types, but I think I've counted 3 times now wiggy saying "Wigan are playing on Sunday because the DW is unavailable on Saturday as Latics are playing at home and they're not allowed to use the stadium 24 hours beforehand". According to the miserly old gits statement the stadium WAS available for use for use on the Friday, so SKY are giving out incorrect information unless of course he didn't bother telling the RFL and Sky about his noble gesture.

Personally, glad to see us get the extra days rest.
