Spot on, no real pre season warm up games for the first team squad.

We only played another Super League club in Leeds Rhinos because it was a testimonial for Liam Farrell and in the game some regular first team players spent less than the 40% you have mentioned.

Apart from the game against London Skolars which should be played by a complete Academy team, the other two games should be taken more seriously by the club with members of the first team squad spending more time on the field than what they are doing.

What I found so frustrating last week was the lack of core skills, such as the shocking drop off tackle for one of their tries and then the Farrell pass when he had options either side as another example...I’m no rugby player but surely even if the lads are a bit rusty, Wigan players should have the ability to nail the basics in tight games to get us over the line?

Whilst they shouldn't make those mistakes, can they be put down to early season cobwebs?

Agreed, the first team need at least a game and half imo to settle in, playing 40 mins of 1 game isn’t going to make much difference they might as well not play at all

IMO anything other than a victory, and a comprehensive one at that, over a weak Toronto side will just not be good enough.

Tonight will say a lot IMO. We’ve had two games to get the rust off and on paper it’s an easy Wigan win. Will the players look like they know what the plan is? Will they look excited to be out there or will they continue to look like it’s their first ever game together.

Any result wouldn’t surprise me tonight.

Lam looked shell shocked after last Friday so will be interesting to see what type of performance we give tonight . We need to be full on from minute one so that should mean no place for Clubb but I won’t hold my breath

Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see us putting breaking teams down at the moment. I certainly can't see us putting on a 30 or 40+ point win either.

I can see Toronto scoring (maybe even going into a shock 0-6 lead), but my guess would be a 16-6 win. But knowing us we could lose a game like this, more pressure on Wigan than Toronto tonight.

A loss spells the end of Lam, a narrow win buys him a stay of execution for a few weeks. Nothing other than a thumping win versus a weak Toronto team will do tonight. Anything else is unacceptable IMHO.

I wouldn't go that far but pressure would certainly be on. The Facebook crew will be merciless if we get beat tonight. I think if the performance is good and we still don't thump them will be a good improvement.

May well be a little bit far and I can appreciate that viewpoint but a loss or narrow win will only seek to further prove the continued decline and lack of improvement in the team and club. I sincerely hope that in 4 hours I’m sat here eating my words and toasting to a fantastic Wigan performance.
