If we report Mods will it have the same affect? Also is the reporting anonymous?

If you report, only the admin and mods of that particular board see it (i think)

There are some of the Moderators on the list above that no longer use the forum, so discussions are in place to remove them and add new ones. Then we can start to "patrol" it better.

Some fans of various clubs like yourself, Damo, Horatio, Prop Joe etc are not really the issue. Issue now is that if anything negative is done by any player or anything connected with Wigan Warriors then the standard of the posts and the general discussion is that of children in a playground. Usually this is new supporters of other clubs (I do agree same is done by some Wigan fans on other boards) or kids who now got access to the forums. It seems some dont want a discussion but want to have a pop on anything connected to Wigan Warriors. The amount of threads on Tomkins was a joke last week and he only did what others have done before.

I do think its time for mods on this forum to be much more vigilant and ban people who generally post on here to wind people up or derail a thread. It really does annoy me when supporters of other clubs post more on here than on thier own boards. By all means support your own team but let Wigan supporters and people who have something to bring into a discussion time to disucss things before you post crap on here.

If you dont bring anything productive to a discussion then please dont post your destroying what was a very good forum but now its resembles a school playground.

Not really no. It's certainly no different to what's been said by wire fans about Wigan fans; there are certain posters all over these forums that readily tar every supporter of a particular team as something.

As for the 'wolfs' thing, you're clearly being obtuse, it's no different to someone saying dire, wigoon, stains, whinos, etc ad infinitum

He wrote it on the Wigan board, how can it be trolling, unless his aim was to troll his fellow Wigan fans or indeed himself?

As for the 'wolf' bit, I take it back what I said above, he managed to troll a Wire fan on the Wigan board, I'd give him extra points for that!

I think the best thing we could do is introduce a ‘RLFANS Respect policy’ to go alongside the AUP. This would be a policy that accepts that people can make the odd joke and the odd criticism. But not to overdo it because it effects the enjoyment of other users.

I think that PHIPPS should be used as a case study and an example of what not to be like. Hopefully we can have a ‘star poster’ as well who people can fallow in the example of. Personally I’d choose Rogue Gallery who likes a bit of a laugh at anyone's expense (Leeds Rhinos from time to time in my experiance

) but always contributes well to the forums as well. It's about balance.

It's sweeping generalisations ( [ie.g. Wigan have been crap throughout their entire history[/i ) that are often referred to as 'trolling' hence my point.

I'm not at all being obtuse about '[iwolfs[/i'. Many mildy-insulting nicknames ( like Dire, Stains etc ) are quite witty. What's witty about not knowing the plural of a word?

Trolling is generally accepted as posting something simply to stir up other readers/posters. Any others have pointed out, this board is not a private club open only to unquestioning Wigan fans, so of course such an insulting generalisation is trolling.

I believe it stems from a picture of three wolfs fans standing next to a wall on which someone had spraypainted the word "Wolfs". I'm sure someone will have the picture.

It's hilarious that my spelling was being questioned; not only the Wolfs reference (even if you hadn't seen the infamous Wolfs photo it would have been fairly easy to guess it was a deliberately jokey misspelling) but also the word "stupidest", again a word chosen deliberately this time because it sounds/looks wrong (though actually I don't think it is, it sounds awkward but there's no reason why you can't use it - e.g. [uwww.metro.co.uk/weird/870060-is-this-britains-stupidest-sign[/u ).

Even more hilarious is the fact that I have been accused of trolling on the Wigan board when replying to a thread started by a Wigan fan complaining about trolling. Genius.
