| Quote ="Durham Giant"At Cas this season Cas wanted to wear their AWAY shirt when at home to maximise sales as it had just come out. The Giants agreed on the condition they could wear their away shirt at the corresponding match. This was agreed with CAs and the RFL. It was confirmed to them in may of this year. The RFL then updated their website to state CATEGORICALLY that the kits for this game would be HUDDERSFIELD ALTERNATIVE, CAS PRINCIPLE.
Cas got it wrong and did not bring their other kit so were forced to change.'"
But if clubs were told before the season starts that they cannot deviate from the RFL kit guidelines none of this would have happened, Giants saying to Cas ,yes, you can wear your away kit at home if we can wear our away kit for a home fixture !!!!!, are people in Cas so gullible that they only buy 'away' kits after watching them play one game in it ?.Play home games in your home kit and let the visitors change if there is a clash, simple, I understand your point about Cas getting it wrong and bringing the wrong kit but all this could have been avoided by just sticking to the RFL guidelines.

| Speaking as a retired kitman (football) the home team wore their home kit as stipulated to the football league at the start of the season, we always contacted the home club before travelling to confirm then decided on which kit to take that would not clash.
When I watched this live on Sunday I could not believe what was happening, shambles, be interesting to see the outcome, bet Castleford's sponsers ( on the shirts) are not happy.

For some strange reason I was dragged to watch PNE play Notts County in 1999. County forgot to bring any kit......nevermind the wrong one!. They ended up wearing Prestons away kit!.

Quote it was agreed in february when cas asked to wear their new away kit to "showcase" it on the first televised game of the weekly rounds, that instead of them wearing their principle kit they wanted to wear their brand new sparkling alternative kit, we agreed and so it was then agreed that on the return fixture cas would wear their principle kit.so either the RFL or castleford or both forgot or chose to ignore this.
no blame whatsoever on huddersfields part.'"

| which means that the directives on the RFL website hadn't been amended from the game at castleford in february, either way we were always due to play this game in our alternative kit, which we would have done at castleford except on the request of castleford we agreed to switch, therefore huddersfield brought the correct kit, the error lies with either the RFL or cas or both.

he must have forgot that they played in white for their home game against us which was agreed by both clubs and the RFL on the proviso that the clubs swap round in the reverse fixture

What was the reasoning behind swapping? I can sort of see why Cas would want to show off their away kit when it went on sale but what benefit was it to either team to swap in the reverse fixture?

Obviously not up to date on where matches are being played like a few more Wigan fans on here. It has been in the fixtures lists all season that we would be playing our June matches at Halifax due to the Galpharm pitch being relayed. Did you know the Saints were playing at the Stobart stadium, or are you only interested in one team and don`t know what`s happening outside Wigan.???

I don't tend to visit the Huddersfield board much.
Playing home games at Halifax - what a great idea that is. You hardly have any fans as it stands, without making some of them travel a whole ten miles to Halifax. Instead they should play 3-4 away games in June like we do.

I don't understand why they didn't do this? Surely this is far better from a business point of view and probably the team and staff.

| Yes it has been discussed on the Giants board why we couldn't just play away games during this time akin to when Wigan pitch needed some major doings to it a few seasons back Wigan asked the Giants to swap their fixture which was kindly granted. But for some reason or other this didnt happen whether the club asked the RFL or not we don't know!

| But why couldn't Huddersfield just send someone for their home kit. AA route finder shows Halifax to Huddersfield as 7.9 miles, 11 mins. Thats a phone call to Huudersfield to get the kit ready, a drive to pick it up, and a 22 min delay in kick off. If the error was realised say an hour before kick off, then it could have been resolved easily. Probiz, a new and major RL sponser, will not be happy.

Aren't Probiz the main sponsors of Cas anyway so wearing Fax's shirt made little difference.
Granted the minor shirt sponsors might be hacked off but the one paying the most £, the main sponsor, is one and the same and have got a shed load of additional publicity out of this so will probably be, privately at least, quite happy with what has happened.

The played in Fax's shirt from 2010 which had Halifax as the main sponsor.
