Ha ha where have i said that it's anything to do with the just the decisions that went against Wigan? By popular consensus the ref was poor for BOTH sides making numerous bad calls.
I simply asked if their level of incompetence is natural or is there something more sinister behind it? After all it's becoming a bit of a common theme that's happening across the league.
Just because we benefited from it against Leeds and then didn't vs Hudds doesn't somehow make it right does it?
Now i ask the question again - can they be that naturally incompetent week in and week out regardless of which teams are playing? If you answer yes thinking it's just simply that and nothing more sinister then the next logical question should be - why are they still in a job?

I do hope you were on here after the Leeds game moaning about the ref too. Otherwise you'd be a bit of a hypocrite wouldn't you?

| as i said, other than the burgess knock on that wasn't, which no one spotted until a replay on the big screen, which in fairness was unsighted by the officials, i don't think competence has any bearing on it, it was a mistake, one which most people would have made.
i don't think officials are incompetent, they make errors, which as fans we don't always like, my biggest frustration is that officials are not always consistent with decisions,i could point to a few instances on thursday of that.
but as is the crux of this thread, i still don't get how thaler and the TJ'S are somehow to blame for wigan's defeat.

You obviously haven't watched the game again.
How can you mix up Burgess and Taylor? It was Taylor who didn't knock on.
What about the attack to the head by Ferres on Bowen AFTER he'd put the ball down for the try.
What about the Burgess ball strip that wasn't.
And what about Crabtree leading with the forearm.
Then there was the off the ball tackle by Ferres on Bateman.
All those were things that should have been picked up by the officials, we're not talking about subjective things like forward passes or offside.

Mate, you seriously need to watch the TV coverage before posting. I'm not one for blaming the refs but three of your tries led directly from incorrect calls that everyone picked up bar the officials. I'm not talking about 'the usual suspects' that all opposition fans complain about; offside, forward passes, holding down and the like that, to hear fans talk, only the opposition do. I'm on about dead set wrong calls that were picked up in commentary and in each occasion Stuart Cummins said the decisions were wrong. I find it staggering that you keep saying there was nothing wrong with Bateman being taken off the ball! You do realise that this is against the rules, don't you? It doesn't matter if it was an incorrect read or out and out foul play...it's still illegal! To make it worse, Huddersfield were then awarded a scrum and scored from that.
Huddersfield were the better side but the momentum was constantly changed by those decisions and, whenever Wigan were getting a foothold to readdress this, another incorrect decision went against them from which Huddersfield invariably scored. It's easy to look the better side when you're being handed the momentum in that way. That said, Wigan weren't at their best last night and were unable to cope once Huddersfield got on top. Good result for Huddersfield and one, I feel, that could turn your season. However, to say the referee had no impact on the game is simply wrong. As people quite rightly point out though, this is the nature of the standards of officiating in SL at the moment and I have no doubt we'll be the beneficiaries in other games.

We could play this game all night and after every game on tv...
All those were things that should have been picked up by the officials, YOURE not talking about subjective things like forward passes or offside because it doesn't suit you.

so things that get missed in any game of rugby league by the officials, and this cost wigan the game??
straw clutching now, none of those things had any bearing on the result whatsoever, again, giants fans could point to stuff going against us, it happens in every game of rugby league

| wigan's first try was off a pass that looked extremely forward, are we going to forget about this seen as the officials gave wigan nothing?
come on guys,we have the shi**y end of the stick in enough games this season as im sure very team has. just like we have some games where things go for us, as have wigan on numerous occasions.
to say the decisions that went against wigan directly affected the outcome of the game is just ludicrous and one eyed.

Is this the same Leeds game where Maguire planted his elbow into Bowens face?

| Cameras may as well be up the backside of the players, there is too much cameras at televised games so these types of things can crop up, it the game is not on t.v. there is no evidence

That’s one for Ripley! Now you’re blaming us for Crabtress’s lack of hair hygiene. PS remind me again was Brough’s drop goal against Saints in or out?
